    Default Davis Cup Thread

I have been blogging all week about the Davis Cup.

    Ties
    India +1100
    .5/5.50

Alot of stock in Igor Andreev to win this thing for Russian. Couple that with Youzhnys injury concrerns and the fact that India will have the edge in doubles you got a serious value pick there.

    Singles
    Leonardo Mayer +100
    3/3
Pick of the weekend, Pin Pin is hardly back. I actually thought the Sweds would go with Vinciguerra here. But, Mayer has been playing lots of hard court matches to get ready for this and I actually believe the wrong man is favored here. He handled the big serve of Mardy Fish at the SAP Open and that will prepare him well for this clash with JJ.

    Stanislas Wawrinka +130
    2/2.60
Shocked he's a dog here, Shocked Almagro is playing instead of Roberdo. Give me Wawa as a small dog here in a match, the Swiss need to have any chance.

    Somdev Devvarman +300
    .5/1.5
I would play my mom at these odds against Andreev. Just mind boggling the respect he is getting. Would help the India bet obviously. Almost would be freerolling with that wager if Somdev can "upset" Igor

    Nicolas Lapentti +430
    .5/2.15
I love going against Karlovic at prices like this because all of his matches come down to a point or two. If Lapentti can serve well he can make a match out of this and maybe steal it. He also knows Gio has zero shot against Cilic, so this is must win

    Parlays
    Djokovic/Soderling/Cilic/Ferrer/Tsonga/Stepanek +130
    1/1.30

    Djokovic/Soderling/Cilic/Ferrer/Tsonga/Berdych +113
    1/1.13

Good Luck everyone, glad to see men's tennis is back this morning

Why are you shocked Wawrinka is the underdog? Almagro on clay in the home country is a no brainer to open as the favorite with as much time as he plays on the surface whereas Wawrinka does not play that many clay court tournaments. He's got a decent record on dirt, but I understand the price here. Nice write-ups. Good luck!

By the way, looking at the USA right now with the match-ups at +400. I know Isner and Querrey are short on dirt experience, but I was impressed with Querrey last week against Gonzalez on clay. If Isner beats Troicki or Querrey upsets Djokovic, they could lead 2-1 with the Bryans at the third match in doubles. Dunno yet.

With the Isner is playing I think he has a decent shot at beating Troicki and that would put them in a great position for Saturday and Sunday, so I like the US at +400 as well.

    JRod...nice insights here.

I really like Stanislas Wawrinka at +130.

And may all double faults go your way down the stretch of a close match bud.
    Nice stuff

Not sure how Troicki is on Clay but Isner really bombed last time out against Greul.

thanks for the comments, guys. A nice start to the week. Cashings both my Best Bets

    Davis Cup: 5-1-1 (+7.53) (1 pending)

    Adding
    Israel +500
    1/5

Gonzalez should win both of his rubbers. But think about this Sela should be a small fav against Massu, I have it at about -150. Erlich and Ram should be around the same in doubles. Sela is certainly CAPABLE of beating Gonzo on Day 3, but if not. I can take my chances with Levy against Massu for the tie. Def worth a look at this price. I actually had Chile -400 and was pretty stunned to see -700 considering the way Massu has looked the past year or so.

Waiting for Doubles prices. I don't bet chalk alot of waiting for the Indian doubles line. If its under -300 I am going to hit it really hard. Maybe a parlay with Llodra/Benneteau will do the trick. Can't see either of those teams losing tomorrow. Hope everyone did well. Will post later when the doubles lines come out. Good Luck

aight just saw the Sela/Massu and I am frankly in shock. I didnt expect Massu to be favored, let alone -445. Seems fishy that the tie line is -660 at pinny, with Massu -445 and Gonzo -3300. I already bet Isarel at Bookmaker, but I am back to say I don't recommend taking it. Something could be up, play at your own risk. Still waitin on the doubles line and we do have a slammer with India/France, hoping we can get + on that two teamer

yeah he took a set off JCF in Brazil, but to get to that match he escaped trouble to a local wildcard. He has been decent at best in 2010. We will see bet is locked and loaded and Sela/Massu is first up. Still waiting on doubles to get posted. dimes doesn't even have singles up for Sela/Massu and Gonzo/Levy. Get on that dimes

I stupidly took a chance on Isner today, too. Thankfully it was a just for .5 unit. I'm off the I-train for a while until he gets his act together.

It's really the clay. I wouldn't count a final appearance against Querrey as a negative.

I'm counting it as a negative because I had Isner in that match! It's all about what has he done for ME!

Israel goes down, Sela was key he had to beat Massu and when that didn't happen it was lights out. Oh well needed this solid week to get ready to bring the ATP 1000 season. Hope everyone did well
