Default So Isner blew it against Querrey, opinions on him vs. Greul?

I noticed he's an underdog against Greul tomorrow. Thinkin he should destroy Greul but there must be a catch. Who agrees or doesn't?

Just capped the match and also like Isner.

While he is untested on clay and Greul is a Challenger series clay court phenom (65% win and 9 titles) he should be able to serve it out against the German. Look at Greul's last matches against Montanes and Gonzo, he had more than 1 double fault for each service game played and terrible service stats. If Isner's weakness was serving and not returning this wouldn't matter (it would effectively make his strength stronger). But it is the other way around, making it more likely that Isner's weakness (return game) is less of an issue.

Maybe this is crazy... gonna take Isner, though I like Greul and want to keep my eye on him.

Isners movement on clay may not be a pretty sight..why did he choose Acapulco over Dalray Beach?

Probably a prep for RG and b/c there are more points (and more money) on the line.

Let's briefly describe 2 players and you tell me who should win (or at least be favored):

Player 1: currently ranked 21st overall, record this year 12-2, career ATP record 58-44, averages more than 1 ace per service game.

Player 2: currently ranked 62nd overall, record this year 1-6, career record 29-51, averages 1 ace ever 4-5 service games played.

Obviously Isner should be favored but he isn't so the clay court is being factored into the odds in a huge way. He hasn't played on clay since April of 2009. I like Isner, but no way I could take him here. Getting a guy like Isner, the way he has playing, with his statistical advantages over Greul, at plus money just seems way too easy. Gotta take Greul here.

I think it is important to handicap the line but that should only be one factor in your analysis. I think even if it does weigh in favor of taking Greul there are forces that outweigh that one factor IMO.

I would also think he is prepping for Davis Cup action which will be on clay.
