Default Federer to win all 4 grand slam tournaments this year. What do you think ?

last year he won the french open for the first time.
can he do another amazing season ? winning all the gs tournaments

I don't think so. Too many really good players that will challenge (Murray,DelPo,etc). French obviously is his achilles heel. He needs a good draw and luck (Nadal being out) to win that one. 3 would be a big feat with this pool of talent.

As for me, if Federer will win Paris - he'd have 80% to get Grand Slam.
And he can do it. Nadal most likely won't be able to recover for his perfect conditions. With all other guys - it would be tough but possible. On Wimbledon there is only Roddick to trouble Roger.. So it's more than possible for Federer to get this year all 4 Grand Slams

As long as no injuries get in the way and Nadal continues to fall into his knee injuries, he will take all 4.

nadal will recover and win at least one slam this year

but you cant really tell whats gonna happen, player form keeps changing every day

right now it doesnt seem like anyone can stop him but other players will pick up their game throughout the year, others will get healthy and federer cannot keep playing at this level all year round, i guess

may i remind you that one year ago, after that lost ao final against nadal, everyone was saying federer was done and that he may not be able to win one more GS to equal Pete sampras feat.

you cannot possibly knowfrom now what a players form will be like later on in the year, and i'm talking for all players, not just federer

nadal should be more focused on winning th US Open, as that's the only major title he's missing.

The thought entered my head when he blasted Tsonga off the court with a fantastic groundstroke game. With Nadal carrying injuries he has a good shot. I posted it before the final.

You can't say he WILL do it because it only takes one off day but CAN he do it? I have no doubt about it.

has a good chance imo...let's see how the clay court season goes

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he won all four of them. Will be very tough to do though for sure

Won't be easy, but he is close to his best form, while Nadal is battling with injuries so....quite possible

So tough, but I do believe he wants that as a challenge to himself, Motivation for this season. I also believe he should be bet to win each major and then maybe a hedge as he moves into the qtrs, semis, finals should he be looking in good form and pending his opponents. He is such a great player to watch. Seems a great person also.

Laver got the Grand Slam in '62 and again in '69.

    Serena won a non-annual Grand Slam (French '02 - AO '03)

And of course Roger got a "Career Grand Slam" last year with the French...

Would love to see him complete a feat unseen since '69 though.

I'd bet heavily against it. I'm pretty sure it will not happen.

No chance that the French draw will open up as favorably as it did last year

He has a decent shot at the GS.....worth a small future wager on it.

Should take Wimbledon, but again, no way in hell he takes the French. His motivation to win that one is not what it was in 2009. Nadal will reclaim the title. Nadal's first half of the season and his health will revolve around the French.

i think its a good bet if it pays well.
he doesnt quite have exactly the same edge on clay for the french open but he is still a monster on any surface- he could play on beach sand and crush people.

cant really see it.. nadal should know the only way he redeem himself is on french, otherwise his season may as well finish, murray in desperate mode of a slam, to name a few hungry top10 players

Maybe some can stab Nadal in the shoulder. That might make life a little bit easier for the Fed.

oh, btw, pinnacle has some odds for this : federer to win all grand slam tournaments @ 11.00 (+1000)

He's likely the fave at Wimbledon. Gotta think that the French will be the toughest out for him. If he can get the French then win Wimbledon, which is likely, then can see him focusing on the U.S. Open to make history. Might see him play less tournaments between Wimbledon and the US so he is fresh. A focused Roger would be a scary thing in Flushing Meadows.

The French is the big question mark though.

of course, since he never won against nadal at rolland garros. this is a chalenge that federer is surely thinking about.
