Anyone have plays or thoughts for this match up?

this if any play..I'm playing it, just small units though....I'd feel like it would be a little more worthwhile if the line wasn't so shitty...people are lucky to find cilic any better than +120 ish by now....Thing is (IMO) Cilic is playing the best tennis he's played in quite some time..

Value is on Cilic. FWIW, Gilbert has him as a dark horse to win it all. I will be on him. I NEVER trust Roddick.

I really liked Roddick, however the value definitely is on Cilic. I'm not touching this one.

I think people over-use the value term too much pertaining to tennis IMO. If you're picking guys/gals based on value, you're bound to lose more than you win. You have to start by figuring out who has the advantage. Now if you think it's Cilic, then certainly the price is very nice and you do get "value" if that is who you think is the better of the match-up. I like Roddick in this one. Experience is the big key to me and a serve that doesn't disappear. Cilic showed nerves both good and bad still against DelPo. If he had firm belief, DelPo should have been done in 4 sets. One crucial thing tonight is who converts more break points. Both had troubles last round with a multitude of chances. I think you can slide by with that to an extent if your serve can bail you out consistently which Roddick does and Cilic CAN do, but does not always. Cilic struggled off and on with his first serve against DelPo and that's usually not a good recipe for winning. I won't take Roddick at anything more than -150 just as personal preference.

One other thing - weather. 80 degree high and this match is likely being played at the warmest point of the day. Could play some with Cilic if the match goes deep. His conditioning has improved, but his 5 setters so far came late at night against Tomic and under cool conditions against Del Potro. Something to watch.

I like a small play on Cilic as well. Never can trust Roddick, he's inconsistant in majors.

Cilic plays to the skill of his opponent. The Tomic match he took it very easy and didn't over exert himself too much. i think Andy will try and set the pace and keep rallys short so Cilic will have to feed off that and make great returns.

I definitely agree with EP. This is around the time of major tournaments where people start fading Roddick because of the "trust" argument. Cilic is the perfect dark horse. He's a young guy from a country that American's don't know well, and so he's the sexy pick. But I don't think that he's the right pick. I don't like Roddick to go any further than next round, but I don't think he loses tonight. That said, 56% of the public is on A-Rod, which still makes him the public choice. Read into that however you'd like. This is likely a no play for me, as it looks more like a coin toss than actual capping

"I don't trust Roddick" doesn't mean to pick the other guy either. Odds are way too high now for any pick.

Two big servers here. Whoever is a little off their game and gets broken will have trouble breaking it back.

Cilic is lot more untrustable than Roddick believe me. Roddick has already won a slam.

Match starting at just after 3pm in Melbourne with the weather currently around 23 degrees celcius. I don't think the weather will be a major factor so Roddick doesn't have to worry about that.

Agree that both are big servers and the one that serves a little bit better should take this one and advance to the next round. I think Roddick is a little bit more consistant with his serving so I think he'll win this one 3-1 or 3-2.

    Should be an interesting match.

This should be an easy bet to win. A good way to get money is bet the better guy. Usually how it ends up

Cilic makes too many unforced errors and Roddick is in better form at the moment.

Roddick is more likely to break Cilic than vice versa.

    Cilic is tired.

    Roddick wins.

I think it'll most likely be a 3 or 4 setter for Roddick.

3rd game of the match and Cilic is hitting the ball extremely well and Roddick is looking a little bit slow to start but will obviously pick it up once he gets in the groove. Cilic's legs look heavy today which could possibly be due to the fact that they're like a metre and a half long....

Roddick hasn't picked his game up yet but still managing to keep on serve.
I'm not overly worried as even not playing his best tennis he's playing even with Cilic.
