Default SBR Points Tournament: ATP Australian Open Bracket Pick 'Em

First things, to officially enter this contest you must pay the fee of 25 SBR points. To do so, you click the gold coin in the bottom corner of this post and transfer 25 points to me. I will be the bank for this contest, holding the points until the payouts at the end of the tournament.

PAYOUT FORMAT WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS WE HAVE!

TO OFFICIALLY ENTER THIS CONTEST, PLEASE REPLY IN THIS THREAD THAT YOU ARE ENTERED AND DONATE YOUR 25 POINT FEE.

If you do not have 25 points at the time that the entry fee is due, please contact me via Private Message and I will hold your spot for the tournament but will require that you pay the entry fee by FRIDAY, January 22nd at the latest. That would give you one full week in which you gain 6 SBR points per day for posting and should have the fee!

    RULES
    1. You must submit a completed bracket for the men's draw at the Australian Open by 6:00pm ET on Sunday, January 17th. Any brackets missing picks or submitted after the deadline will not be used in the tournament. ALSO, ANY BRACKET/PICKS EDITED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL ALSO BE VOIDED. All SBR points entered in these cases will be refunded to the players.

    2. To submit your bracket, please either cut and paste from the listings at the bottom of this post or do some variety of posting your picks per each segment of the draw in one post. I am posting a sample of how I would suggest you post your picks in quotes at the end of this to keep it simple.

    SCORING
*1st round: 2 points for each correct pick.
*2nd round: 4 points for each correct pick.
*3rd round: 8 points for each correct pick.
*4th round: 16 points for each correct pick.
*Quarterfinals: 32 points for each correct pick.
*Semifinals: 64 points for each correct pick.
*Final: 128 points for a correct pick.

    For perfect rounds:
    *1st round: 200 points
    *2nd round: 150 points
    *3rd round: 100 points
    *4th round: 75 points
    *Quarterfinals: 50 points
    *Semifinalists: 100 points
    *Champion: 200 points

Qualifying for the Australian Open will be complete on Saturday. I will post a direct link to the Australian Open website and the men's draw below. It is your choice if you wish to wait to see which qualifiers win or want to make your picks without that done.

so this essentially means that if you can make 13 correct picks for the entire tournament then you will get your points back?

  3. #3

    Default

No. The points listed here are for scoring for the bracket contest. They are not SBR points being paid back. Hope that makes sense.

I don't think there would be enough interest in a woney's tourney bracket as there are only a handful of people for the men's tourney.

Thanks mate. Tennis is one of the sports I follow closely (aside from hockey and soccer) and I was looking to get into a good tournament game. I would love to see Delpo or Söderling win it, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be Roger. Should be a great tournament, and I'll keep posting to get those points
