    Default Nadal vs Soderling

my pick is Soderling for the mild upset.

Why, because of Nadal's injury issues?

Nadal is finding it real hard against big serve big shot players who like to attack earlier in rallies. Djokovic, Davy Delpo Soderling have all beaten him recently. Even lowly James blake forced the final set twice last month against nadal with nothing but a big forehand. Same thing happened when he met attacking players like robredo and almagro. Soderling has everything to beat rafa but still not feeling confident to go big on sod......instead took a lot of djoko @ 1.43.

Sode & Djoko it is. Def. more confident on Djoko though being in agreement w/ tailmypicks.

the only thing i'm worried about is Soderling falling behind at any point and losing it mentally mid-match.

Nadal's concentration hasn't been as grea tthis year due to some family problems as well. His parents are going through a divorce and his dad had to testify for a criminal hearing. Add that to some injury problems, and an athlete as focused as Rafa is bound to have some problems on a long and grinding tour.

Pretty much every player competing in this week's tourney is banged up in some way or another.

When Nadal had to step up and get Verdasco, his fellow counrymen, into the final he did. Its the playoffs and this week will be no different, Nadal will step up today and get by Soderling. The injury will not play a major factor today because both men are banged up and both have shown they can battle through it.

sorry college pro... nadal isn't injured, he had an injuey problem with his knees that kept him out of the french and wimbledon, but he has been back ever since. I was real encouraged by his performance at the Paris Masters Series two weeks ago when he beat Tsonga, when Tsonga was fighting for a spot in this tournament. I went big on Nadal today, as iceminers made a good point about everyone being a little banged up. No one has more heart and more will to win then Rafa. He's my pick to win the tourny.

I also think Davydenko might take down the Djoker as he has been playing very solid lately, well they both have, but I think Davy matches up well.

Nadal is a perpetual injury risk. B/c of his style of play (get every ball) his knees are in desperate need of replacement and I think we see this in the next two years (or an early retirement). That said, I am going to take a shot at Nadal at -150 b/c I think this is unnecessarily low. He has the mental ability to compete in this high profile competition and the low bouncing indoor court favors his style more than a traditional hard court.

Also, as EP36 said, the over 23.5.
