    Toronto Masters Rain

Don't expect too much tennis in the next few days....we are finally getting rain after what feels like months of none.

Too bad for me I have tickets for tomorrow and there is going to be a LOAD of rain....will try to get tickets exchanged for a later day in the tourney, but there will be a ton of people doing that and you need to show up to do it.

This tourney took quite the beating with the olympics right before it....hoping for a Milos win though! They have a huge banner up of him right on the main stadium.

Do you see any patches of dryness for an hr or two today....Think they'll be able to get at least the Tipsaveric/Cilic match underway today?

  3. #3

Yes...they will get some matches in.... doesbt look that bad for rest of day and they just announced here that Tipsarevic match got cancelled... and mardy fish match will be fitst but won't start before 130

  4. #4

According to a tweeter at Rogers Cup, the players are back on court practicing. Is that confirmed that the Tipsy/Cilic match is cancelled?

  5. #5

Wonder if it was an injury to the Serb ... I see his only tweet today was early this morning, a picture of the physio room @ Toronto claiming he was the first one to arrive because all the lights are out.

  6. #6

Seems odd though if that happened because he posted a pic on Facebook during the rain delay of the clouds. Match is still on the board ... wondering if you meant moved to a different court or something?

  7. #7

Hey fellas, I just got a reply from someone at the main ROGERS CUP tweet site. The Tipsaveric/Cilic match will be played. It has been moved to COURT 1 and will get started once the courts has dried and no rain.

  8. #8

yeah sorry guys.... it was moved to an outside court.. still gonna happen.. all the announcement said was that Fish/Monaco would be first.

Didn't someone mentioned there is no more rain in toronto and players are on the court warming up?? Still delayed?

No... they won't be playing for a couple hours in Montreal.. at least they got some in today... I think they have lights on all courts though and it looks like the rain will be gone by 8ish.

  21. #21

Looks like they hoping to get matches started in about half hour

  22. #22

why are the doubles matches being played and not the singles

  23. #23

Djokovic @ 7pm. Isner @ 7pm. Haas @ 7pm. If weather holds, those are your only singles matches.

On an indoor court somewhere ... I guess they want to get those out of the way to create more space for the extra singles matches tomorrow.

  25. #25

My guess is they will be playing in both Montreal & Toronto around 830, if not a little earlier...

The rain has passed in Valleyfield, which is 30 miles away from Montreal, so it should be stopping within the next 30-45 minutes there.

As for Toronto, the storms are more isolated at this point, but I'd say by 8 it'll stop raining.

Montreal courts are all almost finished being dried, and should start very soon.
