I liked Gator boy's post better. Because it said the same thing, his price was better and it came before yours.

    Tee hee. Nadal.

So is this another one when it's done after straights, where you say you still won because you got a good price or something like that? I just never understood that. Winners are winners. Losing picks are losing picks, yes?

Nadal wins set 1, 6-4 by the way.

This match shows the clear gap between Nadal & guys like Verdasco. Verdasco up 4-0 in the 3nd, now down 5-4.

It's not a talent gap, it's just pressure.

Federer will be dousing those flames come French Open time.

Mental, physical, whatever - there's a gap. Verdasco will beat Nadal on hard courts before he ever has a chance on clay.

And the only chance on clay against Nadal is Djokovic my friend. I hate that goofy Serb, but he's the 2nd best clay court player right now by a large margin.

Nah, Djokovic can play awesome for one set, but is too inconsistent imo, think Murray is the only one, who matches Nadal in terms of mental strength. If he starts to move better on clay, he has a pretty decent chance.

Realize I am not a big supporter of Djokovic, but he has been remarkably consistent since the clay court season started in Europe. Made two finals, lost to Nadal both times. Beat Robredo, Verdasco, Del Potro and Federer on the surface. I'm not saying he's going to beat Nadal mind you ... I just think at this point in the season, Djokovic would give him the best possible match. We'll find out tomorrow if that's anywhere near a close match or not. You have to give him some credit - he's the only guy to take a set off Rafa on dirt since last September when Querrey shocked him by getting a set in Davis Cup play. Pretty much, Rafa has lost three sets on clay since this time last year. One to Djokovic, one to Querrey and one to Fed in Hamburg last May. That is f-ing sick. Which is why CRAZY Lou lives up to his name saying he won't win the French.

With inconsistent I don't mean his results. I meant that he plays great and then suddenly his level of play drops and he makes tons of unforced errors. See recent matches vs. Hernandez, Seppi or Tipsarevic for instance. Had every match under control, lead every match with a break and started to make odd mistakes and let the opponent come back to then rise his level. Guess something like lack of concentration. But if you play like that against Nadal, the match is over before you could recover.

Gotcha. That was certainly a Verdasco thing today along those lines. Curious to see what the line is for the Nadal-Djokovic match tomorrow. If it's outlandishly in favor of Nadal, I wouldn't respect myself in the morning if I didn't put like $20 on Djokovic. Have to be over +300 though.

Apparently Lou missed the dog with real value. Djokovic takes the first set over Nadal.

I take everything I said about Djokovic back, didn't see the match (well, not entirely true, came home and saw the final point, lol), but he seemed to have a fine match, taking a set and only losing in tie breaks.
