ATP/WTA RACQUET-erring Contests

I have to say my dudes & lone dudette ... I am very much awesomely loving the flow of people in the tennis subforum lately. I know a lot of it has to do with the Grand Slam. But, I think we've got more weekly contributors than we've had in a long, long time here. It's nice to feel like you're not just talking to yourself when you post. As such, I am going to bring back a weekly contest for SBR points for all those interested.

I am going to start the first one with the quarterfinal round @ Wimbledon for both ATP-WTA. Those who have been here long enough know that I like to have some unique [some might say fukked up] formats. I think it makes things fun to not just have a bracket contest or just play MLs/speads/totals every week. Tennis is a grind and you have to keep things different to make it interesting.

Going to work on the initial format for that tonight/tomorrow. The entry fee as usual will be fairly minimal to allow PROs and NON-PROs alike to enter.

Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome in the forum. It's much easier to get valid input here than in any other forum on SBR. A lot of the people in basketball, baseball, and football are just negative for the sake of being negative.

ATP Wimbleon Men's QF Contest
*Entry Fee: 6 SBR points. You pay your fee by clicking the gold coin in this post and transfering your points.
PROs can pay this upon entering the contest. NON-PROs must pay two points upon entry and then two points per day for two days after to complete their entry. Any NON-PRO who abandons their entry fee without full payment or without making other arrangements with me will be banned from the next contest until payment is settled + a 2 point penalty for eight points total. This might seem stupid, but in the past a lot of guys didn't finish paying and left me to settle out their entry fee which I will do if I have to, but I'm not going to keep letting those guys into contests if that is the case.

Your entry is due by the beginning of the first men's quarterfinal [Federer-Youzhny] which is slated to begin at 7AM ET/6AM CT on Wednesday, July 4th. No exceptions. Any entries received after this deadline will not be eligible and all points entered will be refunded.

Each person entering should PM me the following information. Please PM the information only and do not post it in this thread. When I receive all the entries, I will re-post them in this thread. If you have any questions on the format, etc. please post your question in this thread as it may be the same thing someone else is wondering.

This contest will continue for the semifinals + final with more questions added once those matches are set. That way, NON-PROS you have no excuse for not paying your six point fee by the time the Final is played on Sunday. Scoring likely will be weighted heavier for the semis and heaviest for the final - so just because you do not do well in the QF round, don't get discouraged ... you will have a chance to catch up!

Yeah got flooded with 'em after all. I probably will not have all the entries graded until this evening. Unfortunately I have to work again this afternoon, so I won't have time to get them graded until after that. Will post them up ASAP this evening. Think there were 13 entries if I counted correct, so that is 78 points. I'm adding two to make it an even 80.
