    "Nole" winning the "Grand Slam"

As in the non calender year "Grand Slam" all four majors. I think its possible. The way this guy moves and slides around the court I see him contending on the clay this year as well. There is something special about this guy, it is no fluke.

nadal had more rest and djokovic had just played a 5 setter and djokovic prevaled. it is possible but nadal is really good on clay.

I think still very tough to do. Considering fatigue from an entire season. Injuries, etc. Obviously Roland Garros would be the place everyone will highlight as the most difficult for him to win. US Open from year to year I think is a difficult one to win as well. The courts are usually quicker there and that plays into the other power players who can play dark horse there. Ever Federer in his prime could not due this because of the French Open.

id say the only person who can prevent djokovic from winning the french is fed just like last year, murray and nadal just dont have the aggressiveness to beat a healthy djokovic

Different game on clay though. Plays more to Nadal's strengths where he doesn't have to be as aggressive because of court speed. I know Djokovic beat him in a couple Masters finals last year on dirt, but let's seem him beat him in a Best of 5 @ RG before we say he can do all four. I think clay is the surface Djokovic still needs to prove that he can win titles on consistently. Last year he did that for three tournaments - but it was the surface he had won the least titles on previously (4) ... It's still I think the surface where he can be challenged the most. This entire season is going to be a tough proving ground for him. I think he'll do it for the most part, but winning all four Slams especially with today's schedule, etc. is a difficult proposition.

i think we already discussed this but he beat nadal in straight sets so saying lets see him win 3 sets is a moot point. Nadal had no answers on clay and now that nadal has lost to him so many times it must mess with his head.

with the amount of matches he has played last year
for him to follow that up and win all 4 slams this year would be nuts
hes bound to get injured somewhere along the way

this year, murray and fed definately have a great shot to win a slam
nadal and djoker will prolly injure themselves trying to destroy each other

There's some pretty good money making opps if you think he won't win four, which is what I believe just as many have said with the difficulties staying healthy, etc. For example, at Bovada - they have odds on Djokovic winning two slams @ +150 and three @ +250. One unit on each and if either hits, you profit. I would think he will pick up at least one out of the remaining three and very likely could hit 2 of 3.

thank you for telling us he's no fluke. After all, it's pretty often that someone has a "fluke" year like the one Djokovic had.

of course there are fluke years.
the clippers and warriors had fluke years not too long ago
ivanovic is the first person to come to mind in tennis

but its a bit different with djoker
    he dominated last year
he beat down nadal and federer over and over
when u see that happening, its not a fluke
its just some1 thats clearly better than the rest of the field

My point is that no one dominates tennis for this long if it's a "fluke". You can have a "fluke" match or even a fluke tournament. You don't dominate for over a year if it's a fluke. Djokovic had probably the best singles year anyone has ever had, in the golden age for men's tennis. Hardly could be called a fluke.

Youre welcome. I said that somewhat in response to this thread http://www.sportsbookreview.com/forum/players-ta...ic.html?slf=76 which was posted right before mine.

Back to the main topic though. Djokovic is in line for a NON calendar year "Grand Slam" if he could win the French. I think he will be extra motivated with that in mind.

Lazy-Man is the butt end of a lot of the forum jokes. People fade and mock the hell out of him.
