For those of you who may not have entered one of my contests before, here are the rules:

1. This is a bracket contest which starts at the First Round of the Aussie Open. The draw will be released FRIDAY JANUARY 13TH local time, with the first match commencing at 11am local time, MONDAY JANUARY 16TH (Sunday, Jan 15th, 7pm US Eastern Time). I will create contest threads with the draws when they're available.

2. Each person is to PM ME their winners all the way through from the First Round until the Final before the first match commences. I'll post everyone's picks at some point in the day so all of us can follow along.

3. You will receive 10 points for each correct winner of a match. NOT SBR POINTS - POINTS TOWARD YOUR CONTEST SCORE. There will be a 50 point bonus to your score if you correctly pick the two players in the Final and a 25 point bonus if you correctly predict the winner of the Final. If you have chosen the winner of the Final and they are seeded outside of the top 10, you will receive an additional 50 point bonus.

4. In the event of a tie when grading for contest purposes, the first tie-break will go to the person who picked the highest number of matches correctly. The second tie-break will go to the person who picked the most dog winners in the first round.

The entry fee is 20 POINTS which MUST be paid before the commencement of the first match of Round 1. If you're a Non Pro you can start paying now at a rate of 2/day in this thread but you need to specify in here if you're entering the Men's or Women's contest or both.

If you start to pay the entry fee and stop at ANY POINT throughout the contest, your entry is forfeited and your points will be contributed to the prize pool.

If any Pro's want to pay sooner as well, feel free to do it in here but again let me know which contest you're entering, unless you give me 40 for both.

How many entrants do you expect? Is it winner take all or payouts determined by # of entrants (i.e. top 3 get paid for 9-18, top 4 for 19-27, etc.)?

Usually we get between 15-20 for the men, sometimes more, and a bit less for the women. It's either going to be top 3 or top 5 getting paid depending on how many we get. Prizes will be made up of entry fees plus SBR sportsbook freeplays on top of that. It's hard to say what they are before the contest starts though because I give non Pros the option to pay 2 a day... if they stop paying once the contest starts, it affects the prize pool.

Yeah the prizes equal entry fees + freeplays which are a higher value than the entry fees.

Last time I entered it actually costed me $200 because had to hire an auditor to see if points and grading was done correctly
Its so complex even Shari can make mistakes so I took it upon myself to see what was what
She did do it right but I heard she was up 16hrs a day grading this thing

Yes. And since you come into every one of these threads for every Slam to complain about software that I have no control over, I'm going to pay your entry into one of the contests just so I can make you work. PM me your picks for either the women or men before it starts and I'll pay your way in. You now have a free shot at a lot of points for 20 minutes work.

To enter, you need to pick the players all the way through to the Final before the first match of Round 1 is played. To make it easier, when I make the individual contest threads I post a suggestion (wink wink) that you visit a certain website for a certain TV channel that seems to love tennis 24/7 that actually has the bracket software for the Slam. That way you just click your way through like for the NCAAB contests and then to enter, you'll need to take those picks and PM them to me for each round... before the first round starts. I provide you with the format. I also actually post most of my real picks in the example I supply so you don't have to do much editing because the big guns don't tend to lose early on. It's just a matter of typing a few names for the first round and then copying and pasting the rest of the way through.

Thanks Shari for doing this, I cant tell you how happy I am to be betting tennis again. I cant figure this year out though with the WTA at least, the more I read the less sure I am about anyone this year on the womens side.
