ALL LINES USED FOR THIS CONTEST WILL BE FROM PINNACLE SPORTS. I WILL POST THE LINES IN THE THREAD FOR EACH DAY OF THE WEEK OR HAVE SOMEONE POST THEM FOR ME IN THE CASE OF MY ABSENCE. THOSE LINES WILL BE THE ONLY LINES ACCEPTED FOR PICKS ON THAT GIVEN DAY. ANY LINES USED OUTSIDE THE POSTED ONES WILL BE GRADED AS NO ACTION.
I. There will be a maximum number of 24 picks allowed per week (Monday-Sunday) for each week unless otherwise noted for larger tournaments. There is no minimum # of picks required. Any picks over 24 for the week will not be graded. Picks can be made from either ATP or WTA events that week as long as the lines have been posted by EP36 or an appropriate designated fill-in. Lines from non-listed tournaments will be graded as no-action.
II. Before the first match begins in each tournament, players will be allowed to pick a winner for each tournament if so desired. If a player correctly picks the winner of the tournament, his total # of units gained for that tournament will be doubled. In the case where a player gained negative units for the tournament or did not wager on any matches in the tournament, but correctly predicted the winner - two units will be added to their total. Any "futures" pick made after the beginning of the first match of a tournament will be graded as no-action.
III. Picks on favorites will be "to win" one unit. For example, risking -150 (risking 1.5 units) to win one unit. Picks on underdogs will be risking one unit. For example, risking one unit at +150 to win 1.5 units.
IV. Just reiterating, any picks made past the start time listed in the Daily Lines thread for this contest will be graded as no-action. So please make your selections as EARLY as possible!
V. In the event of any scoring discrepancy or time-stamp related discrepancy to making a selection, it is the player's responsibility to point this out to EP36.
VI. There will be a new thread started each week for posting your picks for the current tournaments. Only picks posted in the weekly threads will be graded. Any picks posted here will not be graded!

Pick #1: Serra +134
Super price here for a guy who has beaten the Fin 3 out of 4 times, including just a couple weeks ago in San Jose. There's very little mystery as to how this match will be won. The guy who holds his break points best, will prevail. Nieminen has been in poor form since his Australian Open retirement, losing in the 1st round in two straight tourneys. Serra isn't a great hard court player, but he's proven useful enough (Beat Soderling last week in Memphis) that I think at plus money, you get a great bargain.

Pick #2: Troicki -139
Troicki beat Bolelli back in early February and has been on a bit of a roll since. In that match, the big difference came down to break points. Troicki didn't save either of his two, but Bolelli allowed 12 opps and saved 8. The 1st serve of Troicki was stellar at 87% while Bolelli didn't even nip 60% winners on his own 1st serve. If he can improve on his 2nd serve % this time, he should be able to slip past the Italian here at a decent price.
Pick #3: Chardy +154
Great first round match here. Haas disappointed me losing to Querrey at Memphis, a tournament he had done very well at in recent times. He's got a good record here at Del Ray also, but was a 1st round casualty last year. Chardy meanwhile has quietly been moving up the ladder and playing well here in 2009 with good runs in Sydney & Johannesburg. He also showed well losing to Djokovic last week in Marseilles. I think Chardy's bigger serve is the key here as Haas has not faired well here early in the season against the bigger servers.

Just incase some people decide to Tail might as well give some insight into the picks.
Hewitt -356
I would make a big Play On Lleyton on this Match It may seem like low value/high reward but Hewitt is determined to crack the top 10 again and he is rounding into some good form. Made the Semis in Memphis and took Roddick to the Limit. He took a Wildcard just to get into the event. I think Hewitt @ -360 is very good value but thats how I gamble.
Baghdatis +107
Baghdatis, has had the bad luck of running into Sam Queery these past 2 tournaments, He came of a Strong AO and played well in South Africa. Gulbis is a Talented player goes for his shots but Marcos holds a 2-0 H2H Advantage and has much more Variety which should give him the edge.

Pick #4: Tursonov -140
Originally, I forced myself to choose between this pick & Troicki thinking it was good for a 1-1 split at worst. Seeing that Troicki faltered, I'm taking this to see if I know what I think I know or if I blow. Tursonov seems to have at least found his game in the last couple tournaments, losing in the 2nd round in Marseille to F.Lopez & in Rotterdam to Tsonga. The key for the Russian is to maintain a solid second serve to have a chance. His groundstrokes aren't always reliable, but if his serve is on - he can match most Top 50 players. Seppi has never passed the 1st round here at Dubai, while Tursonov is making just his 2nd appearance. If the Russian can stay focused, I like him to pull through in a tough one here.

Pick #5: Tursonov -116
Tursonov seems to have the edge heading into this one. He's got his 2009 season on track somewhat with his losses coming in hard fought matches where bigger servers have beaten him up. Andreev has an adequate serve that can on some days be quite powerful, but for the most part - this should be a good match-up for Tursonov. His own serve has been a good weapon, although the 2nd serve percentage still concerns me. Still, even with a 2nd serve % in the 40s, he whipped Seppi. Andreev hasn't done much since a couple wins in Melbourne while Tursonov is looking to finally get past the 2nd round. If his 1st serve holds steady and Dmitry can upgrade his second serve, I think he can get this done.

Pick 4: Andreev +106
I'll be very Honest, Don't know much about these players but, Andreev holds a 5-1 H2H Advantage over Tursonov and 3-1 on Hard courts, 106 is great Value for a player holding a considerable H2H Advantage. Should be a Tight Match as all there HC Matches have gone the distance.
Pick 5: Clement +1000
Call me Crazy but I don't think Murray has enough match practice to handle the Dubai Heat and He's dealing With an Ankle Injury. Murray's serve won't be @ 100% and Clement holds a 2-0 H2H advantage overt Murray (Albeit that was the old Murray). But I think the French Men is gonna go all out to try to stop Murray and I think Murray still has to adjust to being the Favorite.

Pick #6: Mayer +184
The young Argentine gets the wiley vet Moya today. Moya though is struggling this season. He went 3 sets in the 1st round against a struggling Andujar, who was just 1-9 in his last 10 matches. Moya's serve has been off & on and that could be a recipe for disaster against Mayer who will likely look to hit big & wear down the old horse. Mayer got a nice Round 1 win vs. Junquiera and has a 67% win clip on clay in his last 30 or so matches. Most of them have been at lower tier/Challenger events, but the talent is there. Mayer just needs to hold steady on serve, especially the 2nd serve, and let it all hang loose today. Watch the 2nd serve win % today for the key to who wins. The price looks good for a match that I think is closer to 55/45 Moya than the current odds dictate.

Pick #7: Zverev -136
If Zverev brings a strong serve, he should be able to improve his head-2-head numbers vs. Serra. Serra beat Nieminen again in the 1st round & that is just a great match-up for him as he's dominated the head-2-head. Nieminen couldn't serve worth a crap and Serra made him pay. Zverev took advantage of a faulty Taylor Dent in Round 1 to cruise to victory. He'll need to amp up the 2nd serve win % to defeat Serra. But if the German remains solid on 1st serve & hits 50% or more on 2nd, I see him being too much for Serra who just has not been able to match Zverev in the past.

Pick #8: Cilic +199
I'm always looking to hate on Novak & this price is perfect to do so.If Cilic is going to get win #1 against Djokovic, this is the time. Djokovic has been a bit shaky in Dubai, his 2nd serve win % in particular. If you look at his four losses in 2009, they have all been to big servers who have controlled the match. I think Cilic has played solid tennis and just run into two guys in Tipsarevic & Benneteau who matched his play. Bottom line is his serve has been solid and he's won. Cilic certainly fits the bill as a big server who can control the action. Djokovic is probably fortunate to be playing still at this point as his own 1st serve remains good, but the 2nd serve looks to be his undoing. At nearly 2-1 odds here, Cilic is a nice shot I think in a match that in present form seems much closer to 50-50.

Hard to Cap these w/o Actually having TV Coverage
Simon -445
Again High Risk Low Reward, I don't think the Old mans got any more game left in him ... I love Santoro but Simon in Straights.
Djokovic -209
Tried Talking myself from not playing this match but I picked Joker to win this entire thing so i'm gonna stay with him, despite his play. He's far from his best losts of Unforced Errors but He's to good of a player to have a repeat perfromance. He's got a 2-0 H2H record vs Cilic, so He's got that on his side.
Gasquet +330: The Cool Part About being up 2 Sets in these types of Events is that You Don't play have to play another Set. Gasquet is gonna bring it you better believe it after What Happened in Wimby. I don't care if he just barely got through, the Important thing is He got through.
Baghdatis -253: His Event to lose now, Everytime Cela has had a Step up in opposition he's lost.
