Think he's generally tired from his tourny in Johannesburg. He didn't play very well yesterday too.

Yeah - Tsonga has no chance of getting there, he can't keep the ball in court. Particularly in that first set he had a real chance, with Nadal serving at 50% (80% in 2nd set).

Still, 23 aces for Tsonga now, which is flat out scary.

Hello hello, it's Tsonga from Aus Open & Paris last year. Where'd he come from?

Interesting situation now though. Tsonga got really angry at 6-5 in the tiebreak, and then hits a second serve ace to win it :-)

Will this motivate Tsonga some? If he gets just some groundgame going, he will surely win. On the other hand, if he errors like he has so far, he's going to need a similar insane serving performance to win it in another breaker.

Any break in the 3rd set is probably the KO blow. Don't see them trading breaks.

Gonna call a % middle for this set: if Tsonga is above 65% first serve, and 70% first serve points won, he wins the match.

Yeah, you'd think so now, Tsonga's returns have been atrocious. Still, if he's swinging for the big risky winners, he might just make a few in a row......

Surprised & pleased that Tsonga got back to even. Seems like this could be destined for a 3rd set tie break now that they are back on serve or Rafa could help again with a double somewhere.

    Very poor from Tsonga.

However, Nadal's weaknesses clearly exposed - even with Tsonga gifting points left, right and centre, he almost won.

What does CrazyLou always say when he loses at plus money - it was the right play?

I liked it, but Tsonga just didn't have it in his returns today to get to Nadal. He needed Rafa's help just to get as far as he did.
