It's just bad business IMO. The # of bettors who show up only for Grand Slams in tennis vs. the rest of the year is astronomically higher and the majority of them don't research anything, so SBR could stand to see a lot of action off these matches. I think they even offer something for the Golf majors, don't they?

Lines were up for the first day. I made bets on the Clijsters and Nadal matches, as did others.

I did not see anything yesterday before the 1st matches started. If the later ones were posted, so be it ... but that sucks because I'm not going to keep checking on something when I don't see the first match available for the night. Lines should have been available during the day hours in advance. It's whatever, tennis in the SBR book is going to always be buried on the bottom of the priority list. But that's why we have other options.

Lou explained it in the first post: The book is becoming more recreational. If they're going to keep offering all the contests and promos they do, things have to give in other areas. As well as the constant start time changes, especially in the middle of the night, just opened SBR up to a massive amount of shot takers. There are 128 matches in the first round of a Slam between the men and women. Everything is done manually as far as changing start times and grading. It got a bit ridiculous as far as manpower was concerned considering this is just a fun book on an Internet forum.

From now on, you will see tennis in the SBR Sportsbook for major events only. This may will not include quarter finals and on in masters, or Grand Slams.

We're shaping our model to be more recreational, offering various promos forces some cutbacks, plus we're not able to manage tennis effectively due to the constant time changes. We'll still be more than happy to manage requests on a per-game basis if there's a rubberband play you've simply got to get down on, but that will be at the SBR Sportsbook's discretion. Shoot Dax a PM with similar requests.

By the way, how have we not bashed SBR for the lack of lines for a f-ing Grand Slam. Yeah, I know ... quarterfinals and on. THIS IS A MAJOR EVENT, not some podunk tournament in Costa Rica. How in the world do you guys still post all this inane BS like the Ultimate Fighter Finale for MMA and WNBA ... but nothing for a Grand Slam event? Shameful.
