When large amounts of money are moved into and out of any place .. a business is required by law to report these transactions to the relevant authorities .. looks like you have moved enough to warrant a report under the money laundering section of the UK law. When I worked in the UK we had to file reports hundreds of times before we could release money to clients ... standard practice .. you don't like it - you could always play with an unregulated book from a different country and take your chance that you get any kind of a payout.

It took me a few weeks to wake up to the fact that every time I went to bet with them the system was showing a max bet of $0.00

On asking what was going on I was simply told that it must have been overnight and the max liability had been reached or some such excuse.

Eventually I tried a whole range of bets on different sports during the daytime in UK and found every one of them showing a max bet of $0.00

Surely common courtesy would have had them contact me saying they didn't want my business any more and ask where to send the balance of my account?

Instead the just zeroed my limits and held on to my funds for a few weeks until I woke up.

I've been booted out of one place (VIP) but nowhere else had absolute zero limits imposed.

As has been mentioned if your details are legit you'll wait a bit but get your cash - had similar issue last year. Limiting is another matter and very common at UK books such as Hills, Ladbrokes & Corals and these are the big boys !!! For me anyway, William Hill is not a book which reveals a max bet level to you on the bet slip. When I go over a certain level I get a spinning wheel and a manual trading decision which always seems to take an age. But I don't see any visible max on show as with paddy power, ladbrokes etc.
