Default At this point Betmaker is useless!

I'm looking into Betmaker's liquidity at 6 pm ET, one hour before the kickoff. You can bet whooping $57 dollars on
NY-Indiana game if you are on NY and $43 if you are on Indiana. And that is NBA we talking about.

That must be some kind of joke! Looks like couple of zero's are missing. Seems that we need to do something about it. We US bettors need one good exchange. At this point BetMaker is useless.

SM, Right now there are just a few big fish there. I am hoping that changes in the next few weeks. It's interesting because some night or some games you will see a good amount of offers out there and then other night 40 or 50 bucks on a side. I am going to do what I can to help the cause but it's just gonna take more people. People just have to start putting some money out there. There always has to be a first person or two. If everyone just waits for others to post up and offer it will never improve.

I agree with you here. As soon as you get moving, a snowball effect will take place. But somebody has to make a start and put some offers up there. I am amazed that Cris just seem not give a flying f... There is no advertising of any kind.

Why would CRIS want an exchange at all ? It is in their best interest to have -110 lines as the standard.

    This
and the reason why CRIS will never do anything unless motivated

Well once they bought and set up Betmaker, I guess they has something in their minds.Or did Cris buy it to watch it to die off?

    absurd

there's a whole lot of more savvy punters in the US just looking for a decent exchange with good liquidity ... these guys aren't -110 players who would be playing at Bookmaker, CRIS and DSI - they are ex Matchbook players and those who never trusted Matchbook

Cris has turned into a lazy run sportsbook... Much different then Cris management of 5+ years ago.

Well badly run or not, really hope more people start to use it. There's simply no reason to accept -110 lines when something like this is available. I really wish people would realize that!

I think they're fantasy is that they can make it work for horses, which after all has a higher hold. Despite all the rah-rah from players, I agree that CRIS will be the last one's to get out front with exchange betting on the sports they book millions on at 11-10.

I have been playing there for a week or so, I actually think there biggest problem is there is no incentive to post an offer as there was at Matchbook and I think that hurts liquidity to a degree.

If Cris didnt want Betmaker than why do they own and operate it, it seems to me if it is part of your business you want to make money off it.

This thread making JJGold seem like a genius who knows what he's talking about - U.S. players very very reluctant to gravitate towards exchanges.

exchanges aren't interesting to us players

Time will tell I guess. I believe liquidity will improve some over the next month. If not, no harm having some money there, can always move it bake to Bookmaker or DSI. I don't see any reason why it can't start to have some more success. If you are a smaller player even the way it is currently set up would be beneficial to you. No reason you can't get down a hundred or so on a side.

They at least have finally sent out some emails about their shop. Got 2 last week. Was talk in another thread they were going to simplify the commission structure. NO DOUBT that will help. My head exploded last time I tried to figure out what the vig would be. It must be simple and competitive with what is out there. 2% locked in on the winning side will for sure bring people around. LOWER withdraw/transfer fees will also help. Cris, are you listening?

Why would that be? Exchange is a place where pro's can play without a fear ever to be kicked out for winning.
Exchange is a great sports betting model. I would say US players could use 3-4 strong exchanges, it would change this business and they way we are looking at it!

Can someone verify for me that they have actually cashed out of BetM directly from them without transfering from BookM, as im about to try them out now for the time being?

yes, this stuff about US players not being interested in betting exchanges is just pure crap

I had no interest in betting exchanges until I discovered Betfair and opened my eyes to what it can mean for the punter .... best thing since sliced bread for sure

Unfortunately for the Yanks they've really had no exposure to exchange betting and remain ignorant about it for the most part .. given the opportunity to use a Betfair legally they will take to it just the same way that punters all around the world have

But I disagree with the 3-4 exchanges concept (unless they are each sports specific) because mass is the key to exchanges .. pooling all the liquidity makes it work best ... i.e. a virtual monopoly as Betfair has become
