Default Lasseters Sportsbook is closing down!

Those of your with deposits and bonus-so beware. Don't say I didn't warn you. They aren't able to pay out. Signs that they company is in financial ruin.

I think they are ****ed but the sportsbook and land casino are licensed. Best part is the company is listed on the stock exchange.

So any payments not given out, write to the Northern Territory Government. It's on their website. They'll pay out or they risk losing their land-based casino license.

Am inclined to very much doubt this. What's your source?

I received a payout from them just a week ago.

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum sir

I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe that Lasseters will be closing down anytime in the near future. In fact I remember correctly they just reached a milestone achievement just last year with the amounts wagered through there company.

Slow payments from this lot to Moneybookers, i made a withdrawal on the 31st August and i still have not received it ... i have now withdrew the remainder of my balance this morning as i am getting quite nervous about this lot. I have email them 3 times in the last 3 days and all i get is "your email has been sent to our finance dept" and now i am told that the finance dept is back on Monday. It's a shame as this is quite a good book.

Moneybookers I've not found them to be great with, I just take wires to my bank, 2 days usually.

Just got it, took 10 working days via moneybookers (versus maybe 3/4 normally).

Apparently bank transfers are going through a lot quicker though, which would seem to match with their claims about problems with moneybookers.

The operating loss has been expected for a while.

http://www.finanznachrichten.de/pdf/...003289E9.1.pdf

Their balance sheet is about +$8m, and a lot of the losses this year were one-off value write-offs.

I use another forum most of the time and several players have reported that they made withdrawals from Lasseters this weekend and received the money back to Moneybookers today. My requests are still pending one from the 31st August and the 2nd on 5th Sept. Everytime i email them i get the runaround stating Moneybookers problems and the finance dept will get in touch (which never happens).Where can i go from here?

There is no evidence to suggest they are. The post subject title should probably be altered as it's misleading.

Similiar experience here.

I had 2 moneybookers withdrawals in August and both of them took a bit longer than a week. On at least one of those occasions I was told the withdrawal would be processed that day but it wasn't processed until like 3-4 days later. On the second one, knowing how long it would take, I didn't bother asking.

A quick update, i rang the only number i could find for Lasseters and spoke to some bookmaker who was very sympathetic and went to ask the accounts dept about it ... 20 minutes later the money is in Moneybookers...I rang him back to thank him, UK to Aus it may cost a couple of £'s but was worth it. They did'nt seem to have Moneybookers issues at the end of the day.

I won't go back there.

moneybookers, can cause a problem with payouts because it seems the books only payout what is in there moneybookers accounts , instead taking money from the general account and putting in moneybookers and paying out the customer

Question over funding from their parent corporation (holding company)

Quote:
hares in Lasseters Corporation have been suspended from the Australian Stock Market, at the request of the company, following uncertainty regarding the continuation of financial support from its parent company, Lasseters International Holdings Limited.

Last week Lasseters reported an operating loss of AUD$15.55 million for the year ended June 30th 2008, with the company's ability to continue as a going concern in doubt. Directors of the company yesterday requested a suspension in the trading of its shares in light of the company's dependency on financial support from its parent entity, who claims it will not continue to support Lasseters under the current terms and conditions provided.

The company expect the suspension to last for a period of one month, while Lasseters and its parent company agree a plan of action after taking appropriate financial and operational advice. Depending on the outcome of the advice, shares in Lasseters will either return to trading or continue to be suspended.

Lasseters are hopeful that discussions between the two parties will yield new terms and conditions for the continued support of the company. The Directors have said that they are unable to provide the market with reliable information regarding the future trading of the company until those discussions take place.

Shares in Lasseters Corporation (ASX:LAS) closed at $0.01 on September 2nd, the last day on which the security traded on the Australian stock exchange. Shares in Lasseters have lost 72.97% of their value in the passed 52 weeks, falling to a 52 week low on September 2nd.
I don't have any bonuses there, so not worried about getting money back. Will continue playing there until something happens. But for people with bonuses I can see it's more problematic after Portland.

simmmy - What number did you use? I tried Number on Asian site for about an hour this morning (0830 to 0930 GMT from UK) with no luck whatsoever.

Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers.

Ditto, paid here, 10 days or so. Sounds like they got a batch of funding.

Totally self-dfeating from their point of view though - how many of those who've been slowpaid will go back in? I won't.

I had one outstanding complaint against Lasseters for slowpay. He just reported getting paid today. I hope the predictions of their demise are exaggerated.

Thumbs up Paid at last

After a raft of emails from Lasseters Asian Book similar to those received by simmmy regarding a moneybookers withdrawal for £2k + I finally was given an email address for their Finance Department in Oz.

They asked for my Bank Details for international payment instead of MB and I supplied them immediately because of what I'd read on here. Lo and behold MB payment is made next day after waiting 10 days

I'm keeping outta here until I get some from other punters. I've never been so in my life.

Why do they need your bank details for a moneybookers payment?
Or am I reading it wrong?

At least they seem to honour your request for a withdrawal.

Unlike bettingstar24, and the Maltese gangsters that regulate them.

I think they are short of funds in both their Moneybookers and Neteller accounts, so are struggling to pay people by those means. However, they have the money to pay, so can pay out by bank transfer, for which they need bank details.

I wonder how much of this is self fulfilling - people are seeing reports of Lasseters struggling, and so aren't depositing. At the same time, people with funds in their account are seeing the problems, and are withdrawing, leaving Lasseters short of funds in their e-wallets, which causes more problems, slow pays, and bad reports.
