Default Usual robbery: StanJames doesnt pay winnings

    Hello!
SJ doesnt want to pay winnings, just deposited money.

I opened an account, depositing money via Moneybookers, and bet Murray - 8.5 at 1.83 for total $1100. I won stake
They blocked my account, then asked for approving documents, I provided it. Then they declined to unblock my account and told me that they wont pay me winnings, accused me in double-accounting. Instead of almost $2000 they are going to return me just $1100
I really had an account with SJ, but it had been closed as SJ set maximum stake at $0.

The communication took place only on Russian by e-mail. I saved all messages. My ID at SJ SJ1350155

Urrrm, you have two accounts then. That's against their T&Cs.

Yeah come on. Are you expecting sympathy?

Kind of funny. Usually people trying this kind of retaliation against a book will leave out some key details so it looks like there's at least a chance the book is in the wrong. But you stepped right up and gave every detail of why you have no legitimate beef.

You weren't robbed; you tried something silly and got busted.

Edit: It would've been different if you had been playing at one of the sister-sites like betdirect.

There is of course the problem of the books having a free-roll in this situation, but even so it's hard to imagine how they could have acted differently (other than, of course, acting pro-actively on opening accounts)

Yeah, exactly. Still bothers me though, why was Wagerweb denied this legal free-roll? In both cases players knew they were cheating. All in all Stan James booked the bet and did not cancel before the start of event.

You guys are doing a fine job as devil's advocates but I believe you are overthinking it.

I don't think I have ever dealt with a sportsbook that actually does a thorough identity verification before allowing you to place a bet. The guy could start the account, do a Moneybookers deposit and place a bet within a minute on an event starting in another minute. That's pretty much an industry standard in my experience.

There is bound to be some lag before the duplicate account is found. I don't see why Stan James should be held to a different standard.

Plus we don't know if they wouldn't have refunded his deposit if the bet lost. It's possible. Stan James is not a Wager Web type operation. For that matter, we don't know if the bet was canceled before the event began. Maybe that's a detail gloomer is leaving out.

I know it's not in gloomer's character to leave out details like that but I'm just saying.

(As for the reference to Wager Web being denied a legal free roll, of all the hijinx surrounding WagerWeb that I have followed, I'm not familiar with that one. I'd be curious if you have more information.)

Anyway this guy knew the rules, knew he already had an account, knew his limits were zero therefore the clear statement had been made that his action was not welcome. Gimme a break.

I opened an account at betdirect, saw that the moneybookers deposit would be handled by Stan James.
I contacted betdirect and they said my account could stay open but that I wasn't to receive any bonus.

    Haven't tried betting there though...

Really hope anyone who is looking for a new sportsbook - avoids WAGERWEB - just do a search on this website and you will find dozens of reasons NOT to do business with this horrible organization. Even SBR does not recommend doing business with this sportsbook - consider yourself warned and hope this helps you.

This is classic.....I had to reread the original post to make sure I wasn't missing something.....So basically it goes something like this:

"Hey guys, I need your help. I had limits placed on my account, so I decided to open another account at Stan James, knowing full well I was violating the multiple account rule...Anyway, as luck would have it I got caught, so I need assistance...Oh yeah, Stan James are thieves..."

From Rule 1: "Customers may open only one account. If we have reason to believe that a customer has more than one account we will treat those accounts as one single joint account."

They returned your full deposit after you breached their rules by setting up a second account. I would hardly describe that as robbery.
