Honestly why would anyone continue to play online with the likes of Sportsbook.com, bodog and every other book that is not A rated. Do you honeslty believe these book are slow paying out of choice?
The writing is on the wall. Take your money out and play with locals..... These operation are under HUGE heat don't you guys get it? I read on here about one guy who hoenstly said he thought about killing himself because he needed the money so bad from sportsbook.com...he finally gets it and writes..... He now writes he just won another 11K. What an idiot, honestly wake up people wake up. |

The problem is that people go to the other (non SBR) big forum sites and they have these non-paying or slow-paying books advertised. So they think, since this big forum has them advertised they surely must be a stand up book. That and the fact that a lot of the people don't visit any forums before choosing a book. They literally go with whatever they get in the mail or they google sportsbook and just trust it. Then they lose their money and never trust another offshore book again.
But then there are the people who know about SBR, see that a book is rated C-, and go play there anyway. There is nothing you can do for those people. They don't have a clue. I'm with you, I wish there was some way to let all the people in the United States know that SBR is the site you need to visit before deciding to put money into offshore books. The industry would explode. However there is just no way to reach people who aren't lucky enough to find this website. Last edited by WileOut; 08-14-08 at 03:10 PM.. |

funny....this article was posted across the street....
Popular Sports Betting Portal Continues to Lose Sponsors August 14, 2008 One of the Internet's most popular gambling sites is losing sponsors at an alarming rate. TheRx.com, which claims to be the world's largest sports gaming forum, has fallen on hard times. It's understandable that Internet gambling sites are losing revenue across the board. This is primarily due to the passage of the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act), which has made it much more difficult for gamblers to send and receive funds to-and-from online operators. What makes this newsworthy is that the current implosion by TheRx is self induced. Specifically, their sponsors are dropping off so quickly that many wonder if it can stay afloat. If you look at their home page, at least two-thirds of their once proud list of 40 something advertisers have disappeared. It's one thing to lose business due to difficult times. It's quite another story when a company is making poor choices that are turning many important players in the industry against them. A majority of the elite sports books have requested TheRx to take them off the site, not because TheRx isn't delivering customers, but because TheRx isn't listening to their requests. TheRx, in addition to competing with other sports betting portals, made a decision to compete in a niche that's overcrowded and competitive, namely in the realm of line services. They opened up a company within their own site and named it Sports Options. TheRx invested a boatload of money to offer gamblers a similar product that's already out there. The main difference being that a couple of these other companies, such as Don Best and GJ Update, have been strictly a live line service for many years, whereas this is only the second season for Sports Options. The current climate doesn't need another live line feed which is more or less a clone of Don Best. What's more disturbing is that two well respected sportsbooks, Cris and Grande, have made multiple requests to TheRx, err, Sports Options, to stop "scraping," err stealing, its live lines and selling them for a profit. Sports Options argues that its within their legal rights to do so and they may be right. Once something is released online, it's up to the legal experts to decide whether or not it's considered public information. I don't claim to be a legal expert and I don't know the answer to this. What is not up for debate, is the moral argument that it's just plain wrong for a company to steal lines from sports books who request they don't do so. I don't know anyone in this industry who thinks its OK for Sports Options to be taking live lines against the request of Grande and Cris, then selling it for a profit. I understand the power of the almighty dollar. But, there is a code within this industry that is more powerful. It's called honor. The misuse of power by scraping a competitor's live lines is not only morally wrong, but it's not honorable. When you lose credibility in this business, I don't believe you've got a shot to be successful. Unless Sports Options stops scraping lines from CRIS and GRANDE, they are risking much more than Sports Options. They are risking losing one of the best sites this industry has known. It's one I am very passionate about since I founded it. just because a forum has a book for a sponsor dosent automatically mean that the book is good....the RX had Lazerwager on their front page for a while....enough said |

I never said anything about outside the US. Peaks and valleys? WTF are you brain dead?
Its not the book fault its the government making it near impossible to get money to the players. Do you honestly believe they want to not pay US players? People are just so dumb in the end the fire will burn them and they will cry about how bad these places are/were. Its over people give it up. Why did Pinny leave the market? becuase they were losing money in the US? no....all of these places will stop surving the US in time..... |

Some people are just dumb.
This is a trend I notice all over the world, though the US is pretty dominant in this department as well. |

Stupidity is bred in all nations, not just the USA. That being said, I agree with what the original post is saying.

Two months ago Bodog was A rated. My how times have changed. But you are right, players in US are taking a big risk putting money into these books with the current laws. I will only play with the locals this football season.
Spread the word and tell all US customers to stay away from offshore books and let the rest of the world provide the liquidity to pay their players. It may not be the books fault they can't pay US customers but it has become their problem. |

Durito I have to say your humor is second to none. Its just amazing to me that people can't see what is going on.
Books are having issues and A rated b rated C rated doesn't matter and its getting worse at this time. People honestly what are you doing get your money OUT. 4 months is not peaks and valleys its just lucky that my money is coming out. STOP PLAYING ONLINE. At some point its not coming back. |

I was expecting a political thread after seeing this title, got my hopes up.
![]() In all seriousness, safety and reliability, combined with reports of payouts and feedback from other players should always factor into decisions. Sometimes, when a game is starting in 5 minutes and you really need to reload somewhere, players can feel the urge to plop a few hundred into a Sportsbook.com with their high credit card acceptance rates. That's why it's important to understand the inherent risks, and once you do, an A or A+ rated shops probably where you give most your action. |
