Pokerstars and Fulltilt both pulled out recently too. Seems like the new laws have got all online gamblings sites scared.

this is due to wa state internet gaming laws.

matchbook e-mail said no more withdrawals to my jurisdiction. didn't say couldn't deposit, lol.

hadn't used matchbook for awhile. vip pisses me off because they let me deposit yesterday (lost it) knowing full well that my account would be closed today. that's bs.

Why is matchbook compliant to these laws if they are not based in the US?

Do they have plans to one day come to the US when the US legalizes gambling online? Cause that will never happen.

    They are wasting their time.

wa state has a specific law prohibiting internet gambling.

the e-mail asked that i no longer deposit. didn't specifically say that i couldn't. i guess i will inquire whether or not i can deposit and then book to book the money out.

I don't understand why they would be concerned with a WA state law, but not federal law? The owners would be arrested if they stepped foot anywhere in this country, not just WA state. Makes no sense at all.

this has to do with washington authorities seizing money from payment processors. books don't want to risk it i guess.

Money seized from payment processors for poker players by Washington authorities.

Amazing, unemployment in US near 10 percent, trillion dollar deficits, and the Feds still waste millions chasing online gambling transactions.

Too bad we didn't spend money to prevent insane people from buying guns and shooting up a store.

im confused by that article. who did they take money from, the proccesors? or individuals bank accounts who used the processors?

Pokerstars banned players from playing but at least allowed them to withdraw.

that is the way i understood it also...what if the individual withdrew money from bank already? it leaves many questions!

No. Somebody couldn't be bothered to look up a referenced source before posting and quoted sensationalist nonsense that was almost surely meant to drive traffic there for affiliate click-throughs. Actual Forbes article with exactly zero mention of raiding individual player accounts is at http://blogs.forbes.com/nathanvardi/...in-washington/

That's some fine detective work there, Lou.

    Have they blocked your IP?

Why not just use someone else's mailing address.. have your checks sent there!

Because you have to have proof that you live there for them to send you a check. Like a copy of your license and a cable bill with your name on it.
