Default Vip Sports lowered from A- to B+

Any reason why they were downgraded?

They were downgraded yesterday sir, however I'm unaware of all the details that were involved. My guess would be processing issues, because I've noticed a couple incidents of that nature that were posted recently.

Here is the details of the downgrade:

I'm surprised from what i've read they are not a solid B at this point. They are lucky they have a +. I see it going lower.

It very well could if they have processing issues like I'm thinking could be the case. I mean I'm sure you've noticed the recent downgrades Bodog has received lately.

Dan youwager employee told me tbodog was downgraded and said they were glad. LOL books watch what you guys do. They also mentioned "BODOG" is taking a month to pay people.

Is it true that VIP Sports did not follow through on there free trip to the Curraco trip contest they gave in 06 07.

Anyone else shed some more light on this? Bill?

They were paying out quickly without issue earlier this year.

I don't see any processing issues anywhere?

    Durito,

He has mentioned that they're shrinking IIRC and their current business model isn't sustainable. He hinted at downgrades a couple months ago.

    What is "IIRC?"

The tone of this thread is frightening. "Unsustainable business model," "processing delays?" I remember sportsbookreview declaring that everything was fine at VIP only a year or two ago.

Considering that VIP is one of bigger and more-often used books out there, I hope that Sportsbookreview will promptly update its grading of VIP so that members can take necessary precautions.

I thought that processing delays were a U.S. problem because of the UIGEA? If VIP is non-US, why on Earth are they having payout issues neccesitating a downgrade? This sounds worse than a half-grade drop.

VIP is fine. There haven't been any processing issues that aren't present with other top books. They have gotten smaller essentially closing their doors to new and a lot of the old sportsbook business and it is unknown what their next move will be down the line. VIP and Heritage are very similar options for those invited to play there.

Good to hear that VIP (and I imagine its sister books such as Betgameday) are fine Bill Dozer. Thanks for the update

Yes, we might even see them consolidate books in the future. They have in the past after they stopped marketing the lesser names.

I was with vip for years and probably did 70k worth of action with them and I really understand the downgrade. They are a solid dutch book with solid financial backing but their lines have become absolutely awful.

Literally bodog territory in their lines, not to mention they rarely even have more than a few lines in alot of sports like tennis.

I really feel they seem to have directed their business in a recreational wagerer direction and are aiming more to a bodog type player but we will see. not to mention their acquisition of a mediocre book like nine really makes you wonder what type of wagerer they are are targeting

i don't see them facing financial troubles, they seem to be aggressively pursuing business,I was offered a 300 freeplay bonus just three months ago out of the blue and receive promotional emails quite a bit.It should be interesting to see what direction such a major book goes in but I would never be worried about their financial backing or processing issues.Maybe consolidation or a buyout is in the works.

its a shame really, their rewards was the best I have ever seen, bar none,I have tons of stuff from playing with them, ipods, an EDTV,gorgeous sports memorabilia. At one time a really fun book to be with.

To be sure A- to B+ is not a move that should cause customers to bail. I think their casino business is plenty strong to keep them healthy despite declining revenue from the sportsbook.

Their relation to the English Harbour group of casinos is not good for their reputation though. Rude management, stealing winnings and various issues(like the infamous VP doubling scandal in 2006) would probably give their casino group a D if it were rated.

I had 2 withdrawals by wire from them in the past 2 weeks, both in my account within 5 business days. And their customer service is quick with answers and I actually understand them when they tell me something.

Seems to me they've actually gotten better since they stopped taking new USA clients.

I also received 2 withdrawals recently, but via courier check arriving in 4 days. Their customer service has always been tops in the industry. I recently asked for all 2007 financial information in a excel spreadsheet so I can finally file my tax return (got an extension until October) and they dug up the information for me in 1 day
