Any reason why they were downgraded?

They were downgraded yesterday sir, however I'm unaware of all the details that were involved. My guess would be processing issues, because I've noticed a couple incidents of that nature that were posted recently.
Here is the details of the downgrade:
07/20/2008 11:36 PM CST Vip Sports lowered from A- to B+

It very well could if they have processing issues like I'm thinking could be the case. I mean I'm sure you've noticed the recent downgrades Bodog has received lately.

VIP is fine. There haven't been any processing issues that aren't present with other top books. They have gotten smaller essentially closing their doors to new and a lot of the old sportsbook business and it is unknown what their next move will be down the line. VIP and Heritage are very similar options for those invited to play there.

Yes, we might even see them consolidate books in the future. They have in the past after they stopped marketing the lesser names.

I was with vip for years and probably did 70k worth of action with them and I really understand the downgrade. They are a solid dutch book with solid financial backing but their lines have become absolutely awful.
Literally bodog territory in their lines, not to mention they rarely even have more than a few lines in alot of sports like tennis.
I really feel they seem to have directed their business in a recreational wagerer direction and are aiming more to a bodog type player but we will see. not to mention their acquisition of a mediocre book like nine really makes you wonder what type of wagerer they are are targeting
i don't see them facing financial troubles, they seem to be aggressively pursuing business,I was offered a 300 freeplay bonus just three months ago out of the blue and receive promotional emails quite a bit.It should be interesting to see what direction such a major book goes in but I would never be worried about their financial backing or processing issues.Maybe consolidation or a buyout is in the works.
its a shame really, their rewards was the best I have ever seen, bar none,I have tons of stuff from playing with them, ipods, an EDTV,gorgeous sports memorabilia. At one time a really fun book to be with.

To be sure A- to B+ is not a move that should cause customers to bail. I think their casino business is plenty strong to keep them healthy despite declining revenue from the sportsbook.
