BetWay continues to confiscate winnings; SBR lowers rating
BetWay continues to confiscate winnings; SBR lowers rating to D
Betway offers free-plays as an incentive for bettors to deposit. After the players have met the wagering requirements and requests a payout the sportsbook confiscates winnings. The sportsbook cites bonus hunting and taking advantage of the sportsbook's offers without intending to gamble further. Betway attempts to brand this type of play as the "money method."
BetWay:

You have been positively identified as a participant of the "Money Method" scheme and therefore we have locked your account, cancelled all your bets and returned your initial deposit to your eWallet account. We will keep your account locked and will lock any future accounts you register."

@ the book using the term "money method"
Meet the rollover, cash out with bonus before lower rated book goes under. Nothing wrong with that.

Insane. It's not like their bonus is more than pocket change either - you could understand if it was one of Ladbrokes/willhills 200 pound ($400) matched bets, but for $50? Just blatantly trying to thieve winnings, nothing more.

The head of operations wrote me back. They are convinced that what they are doing is perfectly fair.
If a book will steal a bonus, it will steal your balance.

It's beyond stealing a bonus already. The latest complaint, unless I misread it, is a player having ALL winnings stolen, not just freeplay winnings.

It's the same thing BOS did and Sportsbook.com does...review the play after it should be irrelevant and go back canceling winnings. No reports of deposits returned due to the player losing using the "money method."

MB,
I can't recall a VC wagering/payout complaint. If you can supply any record of one it would be appreciated.

I have another dispute where a player had his entire balance confiscated (not just the bonus and winnings). Betway claims that "This player is part of an identified syndicate who poses a direct threat to our business as a result of continuous bonus abuse during the last two years." Additionally, they claim this player has multiple accounts.
I'm still trying to get more facts. Regardless of what else develops, seizing the entire balance of a fraudulent player is not the right way to remedy it.

I have an account at betway and by the time of the champions league final I received an email with a promotion regarding that match. I deposited 20€ and got kind of suspicious because those funds were debited from my e-wallet and weren't credited into my betway account. After that I got more scared as I discovered some player's winnings and funds were being confiscated by them. I had to send several e-mails and fill an official complaint here before receiving somekind of response from them(after several days). The money was returned after a week or so into my neteller account but now I know I won't deposit funds there anymore.
In my case if they confiscated any funds they were only 20€ but this is most concerning for those who have larger ammounts into their betway accounts. Besides that I heard only winning players were seeing their winnings confiscated no matter what "method" they used. Meaning someone using that so called "money method" who had lost their money in betway wouldn't notice any problems and betway would gladly welcome that player while winners would be "robbed" with betway using the excuse of that player using a method to bet.

Betway confirmed that they took the player's entire balance, including deposit, for using his brain on a bonus. The player had been there over a year. His bonus? Accepting and winning a second freeplay they gave him.
I have asked them to reconsider this decision, and they declined. I see a "D-" rating in their future.

Meh, this forum is depressing. That's another book to be removed from my list - and another I had no suspcions when using, but guess was just lucky. They had pretty decent odds at times too.

Did they have any reasoning behind this? Are you saying they admit to stealing the player's postup deposit??

Yes, they admit this. They claim the player is a fraud, but provided no proof. The player provided a passport (I think) to show his identity.
