Default Carib weirdness with NYG/MIN game

Someone just posted to EOG that Carib sent out this memo:

    GIANTS/VIKINGS
Due to the fact that most of our players have already selected their picks for the Pick 10 and Carib Clasic entries for this week, Caribsports is excercising its option to keep all previously wagered bets on the above game active. Our posted rule states: Most sporting events must be played at their originally scheduled time, place, and date unless otherwise specified... Reply
    12/12
10:41 am ...If an event is postponed and then later rescheduled, it MAY be deemed a No Action wager, and all money will be credited accordingly. If any player would like to cancel ,or change any previously submitted bet on the game, please do so by contacting us or sending a memo prior to midnight, Sunday, December 12th. Note that Carib Classic and Pick 10 Weekly picks cannot be changed. Thanks for your cooperation. -CaribSports

That makes no sense. The "otherwise specified" should be specified in the wager terms for that specific game BEFORE the wager is placed, i.e. books that put up a line on potential boxing matches and say "Match must take place before June 30 2011 for action."

If I placed a bet on that game with Carib, I would have assumed it was voided since just about every book in the world voids wagers when a game location and/or date is changed. The MIA/SD wildfire game in 2003 that was moved to Arizona and the various hurricane games over the years, I've never once had a bet that wasn't voided because of the location, so if I'd placed a bet with Carib and wasn't able to log into my account today, I'd be pretty livid to find out that they decided after the fact to keep my bet active in violation of their own rules if I wasn't able to get to a computer or wasn't able to log in to my Carib account today and found out I still had action, especially if I'd bet the Vikings.

Completely ridiculous, but their management does raise the bar for incompetent cluelessness on a regular basis.

Doesn't this mean you can either keep or cancel your bet, depending on whether you like it? Wouldn't that be a HUGE advantage to the player?

Exactly this is a good move for players, though I'm sure some will try to take advantage by complaining after the match

It's a good move for players if the player actually logs into his Carib account today and sees the memo. There are plenty of times I've had to travel on weekends and have placed my bets in advance, knowing I wouldn't be online that day.
