Default Oddsmaker.com deposit problem, Am I being scammed?

On 11/20 I tried to make a deposit into my Oddsmaker.com account and they forwarded me to a 3rd party processor to complete the transaction. Instead of being forwarded to the processor, my screen went white and nothing ever loaded. I was concerned and checked my Oddsmaker.com account (no funds deposited) and then my bank account ( a pre-authorization hold had been placed for the deposited amount) Since prior deposits to Oddsmaker.com have always credited at the time of deposit, I called their customer service line. The rep I spoke to assured me that since I was never forwarded to the 3rd party processor to approve the transaction, I would not be debited for the charge. The pre-authorization showed in my account until 11/23, the day that the funds were taken from my bank account. I went to Oddsmaker.com and seen that the transaction was still pending on their end and then I sent an email to the cashier department. The email I received from them today stated that they would not credit my Oddsmaker account until they find out if the transaction was approved or declined(?) I don't know how the transaction would be declined since the money was taken from my bank account, but whatever. After reading Oddsmakers response, I decided to deal with the 3rd party processor, www.checkingpay.com, myself. Now getting a hold of this website was not easy. If you type the web address in the browser you are taken to a blank page. I could only access this company by clicking their deposit link in the Oddsmaker cashier. I called the phone # listed on the site and it took me almost 30 mins of repeated trying for someone to answer the call. The lady that answered sounded like I woke her up from a 15 hour sleep. I explained my delima and she responded with lots of ums & aahs before she abruptly told me the servers were down and to call back in 2 hours. Since it was apparent that this lady was not mentally equipped to deal with my problem, I decided to call Oddsmakers customer service line again. To make a long story shorter, this reps response was the same as the email, the transaction was pending and they needed make sure that it was approved or declined before they would credit my Oddsmaker account with the funds. Normally I would understand her reasoning except she admitted that www.checkingpay.com is an Oddsmaker company set up to handle deposits. If the companies are linked, how can checkingpay.com take funds from my bank account and not deposit it into my Oddsmaker account? I can't help but think that this whole transaction is going to end up with me getting scammed out of my deposit. Any advice or comments are welcomed.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks to all that read it in it's entirety. Since I have money in limbo, I guess i needed to vent a little. I also wanted to warn other Oddsmaker depositors since the last rep I spoke to said thousands of customers are having the same deposit problems as me.

Just keep following up on it. If all else fails deny the charge through your bank.

I find something really interesting about Oddsmaker.com. They popped up out of nowhere, they obviously had some financial backing as they would send out some really nice high quality ads. I would get them in the mail quite a bit. The funny thing is, they had all these claims that they've been around for years and where #1 in the industry yet nobody has ever heard of them.

There's really no info on them, yet through advertising they seem to be getting a lot of players. I wish someone would comment on who they really are.

Thanks BChrisB for your response. I am going to wait until tomorrow to file a dispute for a charge back with my bank. The Oddsmaker rep that I spoke with tonight asked me to wait for the cashier department to respond tomorrow and I am just hoping that they will make things right by me. Disputes can be lengthy, and i am just hoping to avoid that option.

I really have to agree with your question, who is Oddsmaker anyway? I had never heard of them before they sent me a $100 free promo 6 months ago. I played through the free money and made a few small deposits after and never had a problem until now. The rep on the phone assured me that they have been the #1 sportsbook/casino for 15 years and they have no interest in ripping me off, but what are their credentials? I still haven't found anything online that backs up their so called crediantals, so I would like to hear from someone that has played with them for years.

This should tell you a lot right here:

    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://oddsmaker.com

Archive.org has the domain listed since 2001, but if you click on the indexed pages for every year from 2001-2005 it's a complete joke.

Then they had ZERO indexed pages in 2006 (no website, nothing) then in 2007 you see the oddsmaker that you see now.

They definitely lied about time in operation.

Nice investigative work, BChris! No joke, the rep on the phone kept saying they have been #1 for the last 15 years. By her account they should be listed for 1995, not 2001 or 2007. Something shady is going on with this company for sure. Any SBR members hear of Oddsmaker back in 1995? Has anyone played there before 2007? I'm thinking that they have been talking out their a** and all these free bonuses and subsequent payouts are breaking them. In truth, they are not an established sports book, but relatively new and maybe they cannot afford to pay out and use depositors money for the payouts. It kind of makes sense since I am on day 5 of waiting for my deposit to hit my Oddsmaker account. My only advice is depositers beware, someting sketchy is going on with them.

I wish you the best going forward, but as far as your depo with Oddsmaker is concerned, your never going to see it unless you can somehow make a charge back.

At best they will credit your account and if you win they will not pay you, their mode of operation in the past has been to use their rules as an out, honestly you couldnt have picked a more corrupt group to deal with, for years they were a sponser at EOG,the knowledgeable poster knew it was a case of a forum leading many to the slaughter.

Slick marketing tools seem to always land some fish,if you do your homework you will find lots of info on their extremely shady past.

Want a good read, go to eog.com and make a search of jimmymack, you can probably also read about it here.

The Pope couldnt get a withdraw out of this joint.

    Sorry about the bad news.

Your best course of action is to get the amount in your account, bet it on a dog, bet the favorite at some other book, lose the juice on the bustout transfer, and keep it movin'.

The only surprise for me is that they are rated D- and not F-.
