    Default Beware sportsinteraction.com

I have been betting the NFL for the past two seasons in Panama City, Panama where my company has an office. I set up an account with sportsinteraction.com at my office in Philadelphia with a beginning balance of $1,800 and began wagering when I reached Panama. After about 4 weeks, and being down about $180, I read an online post about sportsinteraction ripping people off and not paying. I decided to request a check for $1,000 to see if the rumors were true. To my delight, the transaction seemed to go through with no problems but I was surprised they had deducted $40 from my account for a "check fee" even though the site clearly states they offer one free check per month.

I waited a couple of days and decided to go online (from Panama City) and place some wagers expecting a balance of around $600... To my shock sportsinteraction had not only refused my check but closed and confiscated the entire account!

As instructed I contacted the security department both by email and telephone and they sent me a long list of required documents to re-open my account including: bank statements, passport, plane tickets, proof of employment, etc... I guess they assume no one would actually comply to this massive invasion of privacy. I sent them everything and more.

The reason they gave me for closing and confiscating the money in my account is that my IP address where I requested the check did not match the IP address where I set up the account. I questioned this policy with one of their service representative - using a hypothetical so if I set up an account with sportsinteraction.com at my house, went to Starbucks and used their WIFI connection to place a bet that is OK, but if I request a check online from that same Starbucks WIFI IP Address, then the account is closed and the funds are confiscated? Further, I asked If this is so, then why don't you simply refuse the check, keep the account active and politely ask for the documentation to clear the matter. Finally I asked sportsinteraction why, if they were so concerned about matching IP's, did they accept my wagers from the Panama IP address?

The bottom line my fellow sports addicts is that sportsinteraction will use any excuse to not pay you. My advice is to use - 5dimes, BetJamaica or bodog, I have had positive experiences with these sportsbooks and maintain good working relationships with them.

If anyone is reading this string and you know anything about this company please provide me with information as to where there offices are located, I'm going to do whatever it takes to put these con artists out of business.

    panama,

File a complaint. If you're owed, I think it will get corrected. Mistakes are infrequently made, but their current management has been extremely good at working with SBR. If there are no more facts or issues to your dispute, I'm confident it will get sorted out quickly, and you'll get paid what's owed.

Same thing happened to me when I went to Australia. They re-opened my account when I got home. Basically they don't want you playing outside of your home country. Security measures or whatever I suppose. If you play at another IP in your country, you'll be fine.

The tone is overly dramatic. It can be worked out and this scenario of playing in multiple countries is not going to apply to a lot of people.

Best to stay in one country........or inform a sportsbook if you plan on making wagers abroad.

No reason why someone should have to go through all this trouble to get paid!

What is the difference what IP's they are using? Especially if they have a LOSING balance!

I can see if they had taken a large bonus and are beating the book or using an IP of another customer, but this is ridiculous!

    This is incredibly naive.

    Fishhead,
They took my wagers in a foreign country with no problem with one IP, I then requested a check from the same (foreign) IP - only then did they close my account. Doesn't this sound a little suspicious? Sportsinteraction assures me they will clear up this problem, so we'll see.

I was upfront with SIA when I moved to Australia, they required minimal documentation really (an Australian government ID and proof of address) and had no problems since.

Always inquire about your move beforehand just to be sure. There are solutions that can be made ahead of time so that you can move around freely without worry.

Some books you'll have no problems but it is a KNOWN fact that SIA has security issues with you moving around and using their book and much of it is unwarranted.

Recently, i had a wagered a 300 bet that supposedly a win but they counted it as a loss so i let them know and they corrected it. There's a chat board in there where other users complain some type of this thieve act. Their account statement(history of your bets etc etc.) is pretty tricky because it wont tell your current balance after placing such bet. ALWAYS RE-audit your transactions in this sportsbook especially for action junkies out there. They can steal w/o you even knowing.

I side with players quite a bit when I read things here, but I have to side with sportsinteraction.com on this one.

If you would tell your CC companies when you are traveling for business or pleasure, then you shouldn't think it's a big deal to notify your gaming accounts.

I know for a fact that many hackers target ONLY people countries other than their own, so that it minimizes the chance that they will be prosecuted if caught. So, while a legit situation where someone plays in multiple countries is rare, a hacker/con artist operating in a different country than the mark is very common.

they are completely justified in making sure it is you who is playing with your account . hackers are everywhere these days , there is no such thing as being too careful.

    Mad Tiger,

It's OK they refused the check and closed my account, but I have sent them in a ton of information proving my case and my account is still not open. This has been going on for two weeks. CC companies refuse transactions until you call to clarify - your account is then immediately open for more charges. Sportsinteraction refused the check, closed the account and has done nothing for two weeks. How can you side with this? There is no scam going on here - I sent them my plane ticket, passport, stamp of entry into panama, corporate documents, business card, bank statement and a screen shot of my panama IP address. What else can I do?

    Justin,
I appreciate your support and help but I told sportsinteraction that I would wait a week until I took any action and that will be tomorrow night. I don't owe them this courtesy, but I always keep my word. Beyond that, I have my graphic artists working on a website that will basically make my case by presenting clear evidence that sportsinteraction intentionally closed my account to avoid paying me. I don't understand how they can be in financial trouble when they collect 10% on each wager. Also, I have friends in Vegas and we'll be distributing a flier directing them to the website. At this point I don't believe I'll ever get my money, but the crime will cost them at least a 1,000 times what it cost me.
Justin - your moniker says Moderator? What does this mean?

    Thanks again for your support!

Dude, if your story checks out, they will pay you. If you get Justin's help (he works for sbr, that's what moderator means) they will pay much faster. I actually had a very similar issue with sia where they told me they were confiscating 10k from me, one email to justin and I was paid that same day.

    Wulfman14,
I don't blame sportsinteraction for stopping the check I requested when the IP conflict occurred, but why close the damn account? Keep in mind I have been gambling with this account for weeks under my Panama IP address and winnning and losing (mostly losing - lol). It is only when I asked for money did they close the account. Why not refuse payment, write a polite letter to me saying why they did not pay and ask me to prove my identity instead of just closing the account... now I have nothing.

I agree, their behaviour is unjustifiable. If they're paranoid about hackers and IP addresses abroad they should have refused to accept bets until they could give you a chance to prove your identity. It looks to me like their policy is to jump on out of the ordinary situations like yours and try to steal your money. Some people will fight it through SBR but some will just shout a little and then go away, they will win some, lose some but it will increase their profits overall!

    Panama,

I have your complaint. Your money is safe.

I don't normally share minor dispute details, but I will if the player "airs out the laundry" on the forum.

SIA flagged the account because bets were coming in from 3 countries, there was a duplicate account registered to you that was never used, and the documents you submitted didn't match the residence you entered.

They have requested normal KYC for this type of situation. You can give them what they want, and your account will be re-opened fully. You can refuse, and your full balance will be paid to where you registered.

I really don't see SIA doing anything unreasonable here.

    Justin,

SIA Lies! I have not been placing orders from 3 different countries - only 2. Perhaps 3 different IP's but in Central America your IP can appear to be coming from anywhere. I sent sportsinteraction in documentation that any reasonable person would say was proof positive that my story was legit. It's not as if I won any money here, I had lost money in the account. My account was re-opened today after being closed for a month - thanks to your help, but now Justin 2/3 of the money is missing and conveniently SIA has erased the past history including the old balances. So now it's my word against theirs regarding the balance before the account was closed.

I'm going to approach this thing my way from here on out, but I do appreciate your help. I just cannot believe you are defending these low lifes!

    panama,

You're not doing yourself any favors. Give me time to sort out the facts. I have had a lot of success working with SIA (I'd even call it 100% for the last year). Given what I've seen, I'm still confident that you'll get paid everything you're owed, notwithstanding any irregularities.

If you start attacking a book like this, you risk putting them on the defensive. If they were planning to pay you, they're now focusing on ways to discredit you. If they find more inconsistencies in an account, it might even be enough to support a fraud defense.

If you want the best chance of getting paid, I have a suggested strategy for you: don't post anything more until you have a check in hand. Then, feel free to blast away. Your current posts are only making my job (of getting you paid in full) harder.
