Default Sportsbook.com - Returned Check

Hello, I'm new the forum. I've been betting with Sportsbook.com for years. Yes, I've had issues with their slow payments but this one takes the cake.

I withdrew $1,449.40 on March 11th. Since I'm on the road traveling for work on a weekly basis, I deposited the check on 5/12. Thinking my withdraw would have sufficient funds, I spent the money. My deposit was returned by my bank because the bank account on the check is closed. I called Sportsbook on 5/14/08 to get an answer. The first person I spoke with said the bank account was closed and Sportsbook opened another account. To my amazement, I couldn't believe they closed the account without reconciling all of the outstanding checks. Then, I was transferred to the MVP desk. They said it was the first time they came upon this issue. The MVP desk said that the check was fine and I should re-deposit the check into another account. This made me even more frustrated. The previous person told me the bank account was closed. Re-depositing the check would just get me more overdue draft fees. The MVP desk said they would contact me via within 24 hours. Sportsbook.com said to resolve the issue, they are going to stop payment and reissue the check. Now, it's going to take another month for the new check to arrive. Hoping that the account has funds in it.

Has anyone come upon the same issue? I'm withdrawing all my funds and signing up with another site. Are there recommendations for reputable site? Thanks!

The moral of the story is NEVER spend money you don't have. I recently deposited a check from another book and waited quite a while before believing the funds cleared the bank. You and everyone else should do the same. The online gaming payout world isn't the same as it once was. Buyer/winner beware.

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum sir

These types of processing issues always seem to occur these days. In some cases books will tell you to redeposit it and everything will be just fine and in some cases they need to reissue a check. The one thing I will tell you is that should reimburse your fees.

Here is a post that should give you a better insight on this type of situation with them sir.

Hi Seahawks206.

http://forum.sbrforum.com/state-indu...k-bounced.html is a thread about Sportsbetting.com (from the same family as Sportsbook.com). I think my Post #9 is relevant to your situation.

Also see my Post #7 in this thread: Sportsbook.com back on track
