This does not make any sense. I went to chat with Bookmaker.com this morning. I wanted to ask them about their bank wire withdrawal option. They told me they now only wire out in Euros, and my bank could then do the currency conversion.
Their fees are already high to withdraw money, and now I would have to pay currency exchange fees to get USD money out via a wire? And this comes from the book who is the only US player option from the Cris stable? It is bad enough that they charge so much to do sportsbook transfers, when almost no other book charges for this service. Now they welcome US players by shipping them Euros. I rarely see anyone here comment on their high fees. Doesn't this get anyone's blood pressure up?

You can thank the U.S. Government. It is harder to disrupt wires in Euros than dollars.

I did not ask them about whether they will continue to issue checks in USD. I suppose that is my fall back position.
I thank the government enough every April 15th. What a choice we have - vote for dems who might give us social freedoms (e.g. gambling) at a high price in terms of taxes and social programs, or repubs who are (supposed to) give us economic freedom but at the expense of civil freedom.

They make absolutely no mention about the types of currencies they use for bank wires on their website at all.

They charge up to 300 for a bank wire?
That's robbery. |

This is definitely a disturbing trend with them. They take every opportunity to gouge and to "massage" your money.
1) Wires which got lost or misplaced (coming and going) 2) Transfers which seem to take forever to arrive 3) Accounting leaves Friday afternoon and doesn't return until Monday If there is an excuse to slow pay/sit on your money--they do it. THEN, gouge you on the fees. I guess I wouldn't mind if it was one or the other--but both is just over the top. Any way SBR can get a comment from their ownership on these issues? |
