    Default can bwin be trusted?

i have recently had my bwin account disabled, coincidently after i had just turned £7 into £44.

luckily i had emails saying my id was approved and that my bank was proven to be ok so i cound now withdraw my money, since today bwin told me that in 1-2 days i should receive all of my winnings through a bank transfer.

after a lot of research i have noticed many people are having similar problems with bwin and receiving emails telling them they had entered a wrong date of birth and then never paying the clients their money. Other clients have said that there account will be disabled after a big win or when they request to withdraw money. many people believe it is due to the company facing bankruptcy.

so the question is, do you believe they can still be trusted?

many of you already know about this problem with bwin but i just thought i would bring it to everyones attention just so this doesn't happy to any other members of the SBRForum.

    many thanks, j.cundy

if they have said they are sending your winnings then whats the problem, why are you making out that they're not. If it's that they closed your account then that's a bitch but they can do that if they want, same as all bookmakers.

They are fine for small players. Would not want to be making a withdrawal in the £ Thousands from them though

I have played there over 150K eur and pulled out lot of money and they never stalled (2-3 days with them is normal) or made fake excuses to avoid paying.

They“ve awesome bonus (points) system and to my mind rarely void bets (You have to go on purpose on faulty odds to get voided).

The only problem is that now my stake limit is ridiculous. I guess they don“t like certain player pattern.

When I joined this forum I got several times overexited when reading these topics where people claim that bWin is stealing their money. Now I just browse these kind of topics since I have played with them and this is ok Bookie.

thanks for all your comments and my problem was they refused to pay me and said that my date of birth was wrong but i caught them out as they had sent me an email saying my id had been approved, if i had not recieved that email then i feel there would be nothing i could have done

they don't do that dude, it's all conspiracy theories.
When entering their account details people often enter the wrong year, either by accident or because they just lie about their age. They don't realise that exact date of birth is required to do a security check, and when the security check fails and the bookmaker has to suspend their account to check it out, they come straight on here complaining.
It sounds like in your case the error was at their end and when they realised they rectified it, simple as that, they would not have kept your money, they just have to have strict security procedures to cover themselves against fraud.

    .

No offence, but this is peanuts to them. They have sponsorship deals that run into the millions, and they're in the process of merging with Gamebookers/Partybets, so are not about to screw you out of such a small sum as long as you've acted honestly in and good faith.

after a lot of research i have noticed many people are having similar problems with bwin and receiving emails telling them they had entered a wrong date of birth and then never paying the clients their money. Bwin get targetted by Euro scammers, not sure why. Perhaps people think it's a big book and they won't notice, who knows? But it happens. Every single legit complaint that has been made to SBR has been resolved in the player's favour. Almost all of these legit complaints aren't where Bwin has done anything "wrong" but just had poor customer service.... like in your case, not telling the player what's going on, making them panic, etc. Because they're such a big book, they also get their share of newbie players who, not used to the offshore world, panic easily when there's any delay or hiccup.

Further, the "bankruptcy" claims were posted here and on his own website by ONE person - who had a couple of usernames here. He was an Israeli, playing from Germany, who had his CC deposits denied, and then claimed that Bwin "stole" his money, when he "won" immediately after making a "deposit" (the one which was denied) and playing in a jurisdiction from which he wasn't permitted to play. Bwin's lawyers threatened to sue him for libel, and he stopped adding the lies, but the old ones persist. None of it is true. See further, the verifiable facts of the merger.

so the question is, do you believe they can still be trusted?
Yes, and I'd play there if I had decent limits.

I'm not a fanboy, but you really need to get used to seeing the context of what you read on the interwebs, particularly when it comes to people posting "love" and "hate" for sportsbooks. Everyone has their motive.

Honestly, Bwin is sponsor of football clubs which they are spending alot more money than your withdraws combined 1000000x times...why the hell are u worrying about your $44??? they can also make alot more than 100000x times of their $37 loss DUE TO YOU...now does that make sense? Remember, if someone is winning, there will be a loser and sometimes, the losing money goes into their pocket again 100000x times greater to the money they LOSE to you...!!!

my experience with bwin is positive. i think it is safe to play there.

there were several instances of people claiming bwin closed their account b/c of wrong entered birthdate... one of them got paid after reminding bwin that he received the birthday bonus on correct date... my experience though - only positive.

i'm not sure why people complain about the limits. for recreational player, it is enough; more than many other places.

Would be a decent book if you didnt get limited to almost zilch after just a few bets.

Must argue on that. They are not fast putting the limits. Eventually they limit You if You“re sharp but it takes time.

This is simply not right I'm afraid. I don't doubt your own experience, but it is not mine, and it wouldn't come down to a difference in interpretation of the word fast on both our parts.

I used to use them. I didn't like the fact that you can't buy points for basketball or American Football. That's the main reason I stopped using them. For soccer they are good. Competitive odds.
I started using bet365 which, in my opinion, is much better. They give you the option to buy points and also gave me small monthly bonuses without me having to make a deposit. Plus they have a 100% bonus for up to 100 euros for first time players there compared to a very small bonus by bwin.
Also after I had not used bwin for a few months and went back I saw that almost all my bonus points had disappeared! I mailed them and they said that they don't roll over or something like that. I can't remember exactly. I put in a lot of bets to get those bonus points and then they were gone. That really pissed me off. In the end I don't need them. There are other books that I can use out there.

I would recommend anybody not to have dealings with bwin. They closed my account without any reason, and many people have similar problems with them.

Yet another negative (one digit posts) user.

I“m not pushing bWin but am saying that they should be safe.

As per the bWin point matter - they expire I believe in one Year. I said awesome point system, I meant that You can get some really exclusive stuff from their store. They“re sponsoring quite few big clubs and offer now and then some signed stuff etc.

Yeah, I got two of their Montblanc pens before I got limited. Very nice.

There's rarely enough detail in the "complaints" for us to assess whether they're legit or not, but if you have a real complaint Kahzkas, SBR will sort it out. The complaint form is linked in my signature. I would lay good money that you won't be able to find a single complaint where Bwin was actually at fault, rather than simply poor in their CS.

I don't know why I keep defending Bwin; they don't love me anymore Betfair certainly value them, and are on record as seeing them as their most direct competition.

how long did it take to get limited? i am bwin customer for years and i get general limits, which can be decent.

I got the limits in about 6 months but was hitting also hard. I believe too hard since I most of the time bet to their max limit and that might have been my mistake.

@ Lukahh: I liked their early soccer lines - they often have lines for the next round of EPL matches, etc. ahead of almost everywhere else. I was using them as one of my main books, making between 1 and 5 bets a day probably, for about 6 months. I had my limits slashed when I won my punt on the Grand National (English horse racing) - an unusual bet for me, as I don't do well betting on horses, so tend to avoid it. So maybe stay clear of betting on horse racing?

thanks. ok i don't understand horses. i occasionally bet big on epl and serie a, but mostly i bet on unconventional sports, so perhaps they like that more.

Good book for European Sports and soccer. Some American lines are up to 2 points different than Betcris

    Bwin Sucks,,

In 2008 I was winning about +200€ and they close my account "with no reason", only because i was winning in Tennis.

After calling and send XXX emails, fighting for my rights, I recieved my money 2 months ago since my account was locked.

This was the worse situation that i had with sportsbooks. BWIN ARE BASTARDS!!!

their lines do give an edge quite often on the dog but they severely (like most EU books) dislike sharps picking them off repeatedly ...

Another thing to look carefully which sports and leagues You play. I believe they“ll find suspicious if You play some foreign country low league. This might have got my account limited. Also true that they don“t like players who win on horses.

Of course, betting 2nd or 3rd division football of foreign leagues, with teams you cannot spell or pronounce is always a one-way express ticket to limitsville at EU books, excepting PAF and Bet24 with the scandi leagues, but only because they are actually scandi facing books ...

aren't they the largest book in the world, you would think paying a few thousand euro wouldn't be a big deal , these books chase away customers with these tactics

They're well aware of how poor their lines are :-) If you lose lots to them I'm sure you get your limits raised.

    Not true I think.

I do not know a single person who has managed to get their limits raised again in bWin no matter the win/loss balance.
