Default Oddsmaker.com - Free Money - Worth it?

I am sure several of you received that free $200 money offer in the mail from oddsmaker.

Not really sure it is worth the effort being a D- book and all, but here are the details:

Keep in mind this a 15x rollover and your balance must go to a minimum of $2550 and you can only make a withdrawal for any amount that is over a balance of $2500 to a maximum of $1000.

In-other-words, if your balance is $3500, you may withdrawal $1000.00 max.

Oh, and of course no teaser, parlays and stuff like that. You can read the rules under their $200 free cash policy. I almost forgot, after you sign up, you have to go to the my account page and transfer the money from your cash balance to the sportsbook balance.

Anyway, not really sure it is worth the hassle, but I went ahead and signed up. I don't plan on giving them any money and if I lose it, I lose it. Hell, it will take me till April 2010 just to make that $3500, starting with $200.00. Then in 2010 I will probably be filling out a complaint form asking SBR to help me get that $1000.00, while everyone flames me for being with a D- book. LOL

OddsMaker has had a history of canceling players winnings who won with promotional money by changing rules after the fact. So even when you win who knows if you will get paid.

Best of luck to you sir with this adventure

They sent me the same offer today, I've got an account setup. I'll tell you though, I can barely complete a 2x rollover before going broke, so 15x will be a stretch.

I hear ya on that

I struggled with this one. It is too low of an amount to really mess with and I sure don't want to put money in this book. Now that I opened the account, I had to set up it's own spreadsheet with it's own variables. In the end, I did it, because right now, a thousand dollars would be nice and by 2010 I thought well, a thousand dollars is still a thousand dollars, might as well take it.

Who knows, maybe by then they will be a B book

Oh, by-the-way, was the promo code the same as mine?

It was a few letters different.

What I found funny is I could not find any terms, rollover requirements, or other restrictions in the promotion letter. I didn't search all over because I knew there was undoubtedly a high rollover involved, but I think they must get a lot of relatively uninformed signups this way. Guys that come in, start parlaying and teasing a couple times, request a W/D... then boom, already voiding the promotion. And if they lose before they get to that square, they probably deposit anyway never clued in that they were likely not seeing a dollar anyway.

Thank you for your quick response. I went ahead and removed the promo code I had. I 'm probably just paranoid, but did it anyway.

I agree with you about their bonus program. When I read it, I thought, how many people get screwed over by this. It seems rather elaborate. I mean winning, what over $3000 just to withdrawal $1000. Then what, that $2500 just sits in the account laughing at you.

I guess, you might be able to take it up to $3500 again. Maybe, not really sure on this.

Isn't this the book where the famous Shrink of EOG guarantees players' accounts to 5k? is the Shrink's verbal guarantee worth the paper it isn't written on?

Yes, you are correct. Here is a quote from The Shrink:

Quote:
Dear Friend,

When OddsMaker asked me, The Shrink, to endorse their website, I had to do lots of background check to make sure that they are a reputable site. I have seen proof that their cash outs are paid out on time, every time. I have heard from many Big Players that their support staff is knowledgeable and second to none, so trust me when I say that these guys are as Stand Up as I have ever seen.

As the founder and previous owner of The RX and the current owner of EOG I have been around long enough to know which website to stand behind. OddsMaker has my complete support and confidence when it comes to game fairness, cashing out, and player support.

So go ahead, feel comfortable in taking OddsMaker up on one of their generous offers. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Thanks,

The Shrink
EOG
Now I have heard of The Shrink, but just here and there. After reading this, I really lost any respect I might have had with this person. Maybe he has done many good things in the past, I don't know, but to make such a glowing endorsement for this book feels very wrong to me.

I placed my first wager with Oddsmaker this morning. Since I am starting with only the free $200, the most I wanted to bet was $1.25 and that was being risky for me. As it turned out their minimum is $5.00. Whoa, that's a whopping 2.5% of the bank roll. I usually like to be around .56%. Hmm... Well, it is a free $200 so I thought, what the hell, let's roll the dice. So, I bet the minimum $5.00.

It is possible that I may still make the roll over. Once I get the BR to $900 I will be fine, but for now, it is definitely a gamble...

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I just checked the terms and conditions and I see it says that:

  • In order to participate, you must register an account entering your unique promotion code/number.
  • Bonus money cannot be played on or transferred to our multi-table poker room.
  • All sportsbook wager types other than parlays or teasers are permitted when wagering under this promotion.
  • The Bonus money must be wagered 15 times and the account balance must be brought up to a minimum of $2550. Only the winnings above $2500 can be withdrawn. The maximum amount that you can withdraw is $1000.
  • The promotion concludes once a withdrawal is requested, the remaining balance will then be removed from your account during the withdrawal process.
  • This offer cannot be combined with any deposits or other promotional offers. Once you have concluded with this promotion, you are still eligible to claim initial deposit bonuses!
  • Persons who have claimed the free $100 promotion (or similar bonus) are not eligible.

If anybody really thinks they can get their balance up to $3500 off of $200, then why da f@@k they just do that with their own $200 and play it at a legit place like BETJAM or the Greek. Why do you need free money to win, just do it with your own money, and then you don't have to worry about those dumb rules. Having false hopes of getting paid and then getting stiff has to be the worst feeling ever.

I asked Imbasol basically the same question, although perhaps not as forceful as you, in his other post about it. Well, I asked if he at least made the same plays in another book in case something like this happened.

However, if you are referring to me. Well, why not take the money, if it is free. I don't count it as part of my BR. I just mirror my plays from other books that are part of my BR.

That was quick.

I still have $195.00, but have 3 plays tonight.

You are really getting on my nerves by making such a big deal of this, and
