Default Looks like a big news at Matchbook for MLB

MATCHBOOK BASEBALL: THE 1% SOLUTION

Matchbook is bringing back 1% commissions for the 2008 baseball season. That means trades will continue to clear at -103 by -103 or better (usually much better), and that's after commission.

I planned on playing at Matchbook even prior to this news.

Thanks for the heads up Rake

How are their payouts? I would love to play with them for this baseball season but am scared about the Canadian checks.

I have never had a problem cashing their checks in the US.

This is the first summer i'll have had a MB account for baseball. So two questions.

1) When do they put up the lines for the next days games
2) What type of volume do they have overnight? I don't need thousands but was wondering if you could get something like a $500 bet down overnight.

From what I remember based off of last years experiences. They usually post them in the evening hours, and the liquidity is rather low IMO. But you should be able to get $500 down.

The negative I do have about them though is that they have very low liquidity during the afternoon games, so it's always best to keep a little coin in a regular book for those types of occasions.

Thanks Dan,

I'm still loaded up at Pinnacle and a few other spots so i have other outs, but with the 1% being in effect and a propensity to betting very early lines, i'm hoping that matchbook has enough liquidity to be worthwhile.
