Default Who's been ripped off by Sportsbook.com?

I withdrew $777 from Sportsbook.com on 1-2-08. I didn't participate in any bonuses or promotions so all the $$ was mine at the time of withdrawal. The "processed" the withdrawal on 1-3-08 and said a check was sent via DHL on 1-8-08. Today is 1-23-08. Several calls to DHL over the past week using the tracking number provided by Sportsbook.com on their website have proven than the check was never cut and the shipment was never sent. DHL confirmed this via telephone on 1-18-08 and 1-23-08 after trying to trace the ghost package.

Today I "chatted" with Sportsbook.com online to try to get some answers: The result of our conversation is recorded below:

Please wait for a site operator to respond. You are currently customer 1 in queue. Thank you for your patience.
Hello, my name is Darren Lee. How may I help you today?
You: 3007916 processed 01-02-2008 01-03-2008 $777.00 $777.00 $0.00 DHL Click here for comments Your withdrawal has been sent. 89470203793
You: This was never shipped - I spoke to DHL today
You: Please Fed-Ex a check to me today - Its been 22 days since the request was sent to you
Darren Lee: Shipment was acknowledged by DHL on 1/8. There is a delay with the processor at present. The DHL tracking details will be updated within the next few business days. We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience caused in the meantime.
You: Thats exactly what you said 8 days ago
You: I called DHL and the package was never shipped
You: I am requesting that you cancel the check and re-send using Federal Express
Darren Lee: Yes as they have yet to receive the package from the processor due to the delay with the processor at present.
You: When will this be solved?
Darren Lee: We cannot determine which courier is used as that is at the discretion of the processor used to send the funds on our behalf.
You: Can you cancel the shipment with this processor in CA and use your processor in Canada?
Darren Lee: We have no exact timeframe at present but again, the tracking details should be updated with DHL within the next few business days.
You: Will you cancel this check and resubmit it?
You: There is obviously an ongoing problem with payouts
Darren Lee: The processor cannot be changed at this juncture.
Darren Lee: Cancelling the check will delay the matter further.
You: What is the estimated time frame for the receipt of the check?
Darren Lee: There is no estimated timeframe at present. Once the tracking details are updated with DHL by the processor, you will have a better idea of when you will receive these funds. It will be as soon as possible however.

ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!! - WARNING - DO NOT USE SPORTSBOOK.COM FOR ANY BETTING TRANSACTION

I should have been wise enough to do my research on this site first.

Any thoughts or comments as to how I can get my $$$ would be helpful. Thanks!!!

It's easier to start with a list of who hasn't.

Here's the list:

HA because I WOOF!

The best piece of advice I can give you and this comes from experience is to pursue it WITHOUT flipping out... I put two withdraws in and only got one reciept.. My thinking: "Oh well they'll get to it"... I got email that BOTH have been processed... Now let's see how long it takes to get them... I have had tracking numbers where DHL didn't pick them up for a week but they got to me...

JUST RELAX because panicing only hurts your mental health... I can promise you one thing..your withdraw won't make or brake them.... It won't make or break ME!

I have been withdrawing 1K a week from sportsbook.com since September 07 and have been met with mixed results in terms of receiving funds.

Some checks arrive in two days and others have taken 6 weeks. Needless to say I have always received my checks but it is frustrating not knowing when they will arrive.

I never keep more that 5k in the account and continue to use them on my tight money management plan.

Keep calling them and just wait; hopefully you will receive your funds. Also of note, I received an email from them asking me to open an international bank account for instantaneous withdrawals and deposits. Not sure if I will do this due to tax implications but just wanted to let you know.

Im in the same situation....

Check sent on the 4th and DHL says "shipment acknowledged"
talk to sportsbook.com rep and they say they had a problem with just that one batch. I recieved my check from a withdrawl sent on the 8th, so its hard not to believe that they did indeed have a problem with this batch.

VERY frustrating though..... Hopefully we see our payouts soon

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum Ericthecrusher

Typical Sportsbook.com problems in regards to payout issues with their customers. They do state on their website that it could take up to 15 days before you receive payment, and if you haven't received it by then you need to contact them (which you have I see).

My advice would be to give them a few more days, and if you haven't received your requested payment. Then please feel free to fill out a complaint form and one of us will inquire to them on your behalf.

I want to thank everyone for their stories and support. In response to ShamsWoof10 (and perhaps others), I understand and I agree with you. However, in a world of global economic commerce, where I could send money to a terrorist in the Gaza Strip (of course I wouldn't), invest in a small stock in Japan, and donate money to a worthy non-profit - all in less than five minutes, it just seems strange that a medium-sized sportsbook could have so many problems sending payouts to its global customers. Do you think I am off the mark?

I'm am a patient guy - and seven hundren bucks isn't going to help or hurt me - but I have a hard time being strung along like a puppet in a childrens theater...Like many of you, the struggle becomes about principal rather than the money.

And the moderator is correct; the site quotes that it may take up to 15 days for a player to receive payment. I'll wait a week or so more and then fill out a complaint form if necessary.

Take care and happy betting!!!

I have a pending withdrawal from 1/3/08. I received this email a few minutes ago....

You will be aware that there has been a delay in the delivery of your withdrawal on your account (Customer ID xxxxxxxxxx) requested on 1/3/2008 for $60000.00. (just kidding, it's only $600! ) We had notified you that this was being delivered by DHL and had emailed you the tracking number provided. As a result of ongoing discussions between management and the processor's it has been confirmed that the original details provided to the check processor were incorrect. This prevented the correct package information being uploaded to DHL for collection and delivery. This technical issue has been resolved and your withdrawal is being repackaged and sent under a new tracking number. As soon as we have confirmation that it has been sent we will immediately notify you. Please accept our apologies for this incident and the inconvenience caused while it was rectified.

Yours Sincerely

Jeremy
The www.sportsbook.com Team

Hopefully the issue is behind them.

-Chris

UPDATE! My check was delivered today! Request was made from Sportsbook.com on 1-2-08 and live check was delivered from the processor in Nevada via DHL on 1-29-08. Too much time for me. I just switched online sportsbooks and encouraged my friends who still are with Sportsbook.com to visit this site to help with their decision making...

Default SportsBook=PlayersOnly=shady..

To whom it may concern,

I am not sure where to turn for assistance, but PlayersOnly.com has over $400 of my money and refuses to refund it.

Feb 12 – I opened an account with SportsBook.com in my business name
Feb 13 – My account was disabled because it was in my business name. I was advised to open a new account in my personal name.
Feb 15 – While in the middle of playing, my personal account was disabled because it was a “duplicate account” with my business account (although they told me to open another account)
Feb 15 – Upon their request, I sent in many personal and business documents so they could merge the account (supposedly within one hour, which to this day has never happened)
Feb 15 – I opened an account with PlayersOnly.com (not knowing it was affiliated with SportsBook.com) and deposited $200
Feb 20 – I requested a withdrawal check of $400 USD, representing my initial deposit of $200, plus $200 of my $232 winnings.
March 13 – I called customer service inquiring why I had not received my check. They informed me that they cancelled the check and I would not be receiving one, due to the disputes over my “multiple accounts”.

I would simply like to get my check for $400 and discontinue any further business with any these related companies. Any recommendation on how to do so?

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum sir

Based on history (especially recent history) of this family of books. You would not be the first person at these two places to have had their account/accounts confiscated. Please feel free fill out this complaint form, and one of us will inquire on your behalf.

Never been ripped off. Had some withdrawal problems a couple of times over the last year, but eventually got paid. Although my problems were the same time that countless others here at SBR were experiencing the same problems so it wasn't a situation where they were trying to screw just me.
