Default Betting Limits

The thread on VIP got me thinking......which books have you bet at that cut your limits? And do you know of online books that will NEVER cut your limits regardless of whether you're following steam, etc?

I've never had limits cut (then again, I'm not exactly setting the world on fire) and stick to only A+ rated books now, so I'd have to believe that those books would never cut....but who knows?

Feedback?

Well, I've had my limits cut at many books.....Intertops, Bet365 (like everybody else), Sportbet, Ladbrokes, WillHill. There's been others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

There's also the books that just go straight to booting you rather than going through the bet limit process. I've been shown the door outright by VIP and 5Dimes among the more popular sites.

Greek and Cris both warned me about steam betting, or percieved I was with a syndicate, and although I was threatened with a limit reduction, it was never followed through.

All in all, after years of doing this, the only book that never ousted me or cut my limits (yet) was Pinnacle. Just my experience, anyway. I'm sure you'll hear from others as well.....

Every book will cut limits in the right situation. Books have limits so they don't take too much money on a bad number. Fast moving books like CRIS don't have this problem very much but if they are following another book on European Lawn Dart lines and you beat them to those moves online, you might be phone-only. Another situation is if you know Billy Walters or one of his people, or anyone who bets limits and/or moves lines. If a BW bet moves the line and you bet it within a few seconds CRIS will see it as making them take too much money on a bet and that is what syndicate wagering was meant to describe...when a number-moving bettor gets more down on the bet before the line moves using a second account.

Since CRIS is CRIS it is easy to spot these plays. Big Limit books will get hit first. That's also why books that want to be recreational with large limits face a big challenge. They need to be as fast as books getting the heads-up sharp bets without actually taking the sharp action.

A recreational book usually can't tell the difference between a day trader/ scalper and someone betting the line. It's all the same to them. A syndicate better to a recreational book is a player they can link to another with the same betting patterns and is usually aggressive with bonuses and promotions..."bonus syndicates"

You might want to read this book. It's good reading and will elaborate on Billy Walters, his betting syndicate, and Las Vegas / Off-shore sportsbook.

Good info. Bill I always wondered what all this sh*t meant...

I bet Halftimes... Do they apply the same things to half or quarter/in game bettors..? I don't usually chase bonuses but if it is automatically given I will take it... In light of what I have read it seems like it's best to just decline all bonuses from any book which I think is the approach I am going to take...

How did Billy Walters beat Vegas out of millions..?

I"ve never been limited at Bowmans (bet365) but have been limited on Interwetten, Betinternet and lately justbet hasn't limited me but anytime I max bet I get told the line has moved(always against me never with me) and I had the same thing happen at Canbet. I corrected the justbet thing by betting $450 instead of $500 and this isn't happening anymore (maybe co incidence? I dunno).

Bowmans I get a lot of euro hockey and have a 1,200 limit most games where on pinny I have a 100-250 limit until an hour before game time. When reading the forum I believe I"m the only one never limited at bet365.

All european bookies are big shit, if you are pro, you have to use lot of accounts (under your family member/friends name), but it's not good thing, because first or last the accounts will run out...

But!

Fortunatly there is a place for me, where I can use my skill without limits. BETFAIR! My last three month session was very succesful : http://www.teddykgb.ru/betfair.png

I hope my every three months will be so succesful in 2008 as well.

Yup.

As a side note, I gave a copy of the book to my friend who has a PhD in Mathematics. For his thesis, he created a quantitative model to duplicate the results similar to Billy Walter's betting syndicate or the Computer Group.

For academic purposes (he doesn't gamble or sports bet), his artificial intelligence model was highly efficient. The predictive value from his quantitative model was more accurate than any form of handicapping that was tested e.g., power rankings, binomial distribution / probability calculations, etc.

It would have been a worthwhile opportunity to test his model against other sports like the NBA, college hoops, etc. If the predictive values were meaningful over a longer horizon, it would have been an excellent handicapping tool.

You are very lucky 20four7 not to be limited at 365.
Do justbet take GBP are they any good.

Van, JustBet is USD only and they'll slap the limits rather quickly.

Very nice Teddy... Congrats

Exchanges are the best because they don't have limits.
