ActionOnSports Office Tour: View sportsbook photos

We visited the ActionOnSports (SBR rating C) office last week to interview mgt. and take photos. This is small, niche sportsbook based in San Jose, Costa Rica. ActionOnSports has been in business since 1999 and online since 2004, and does not accept US players.

ActionOnSports caters toward Canadian sports bettors and advertises in Canadian newspapers versus traditional web based marketing. SBR has received little to no feedback on the sportsbook since 2004. The owner of ActionOnSports has a good reputation within the industry.

is that a man or a woman in the first pic?

They have a small team of 12 part timers, unfortunately we weren't granted permission to take a photo of their server room. ActionOnSports claims to be in the process of moving into a bigger office this fall.

They had an excellent reputation for years. I played with them from 2002-2005ish. I don't know anyone who is playing with them now. They used to certainly run like a very small, good operation, but not as small as these pics seem to indicate.

I see that they don't have much of a dress code!

Or was it dress down Friday when you visited?

Those aren't the type of people that I'd want to have my personal information.

You'd think they would have at least swept the f*cking floor before taking the pictures.

Just from looking at the pictures this appears to be a vacant house where someone bought some tables and chairs and 4-5 computers and put a girl at the customer service and two guys who take bets. If someone sends money offshore to this book they are taking a big risk.

I would trust Soprano and Credit Wagering before I sent money to this Bubblegum operation.

It's a small shop, but they have a good reputation in Canada. Now that we have a tour and mini-review page created for them, we'll see if any sportsbook complaints surface from players.

If you think the office is unusual, check out their retro website layout. Not a 'modern' or web inclined sportsbook, but one that by all accounts has been ran honorably since they've been in business.

The country must be one fvcked up place if the best thing about being Canadian is the fact that you can use Moneybookers.

Peep what about the Woman or the fishing or Whistler, or the fresh air, how about the sport of Hockey, or the beautiful cities of Montreal and Toronto and Vancouver, how about the lax drug laws or good Canadian friends like Paddy and Brunhuber.

    Moneybookers supercedes all that?

  33. #33

the place looks nice and clean. should give them a try..

  34. #34

It's only natural that their office is so subdued. Do you know how much they had to pay to get their linesmaker off of George Lucas? That and his special ability to force choke any sharps that happen to play make this an A+ book for any recreational bettor. Although he has let himself go over the years...

    nice one

Just look on the tv on the first photo, thats not even a flat screen...

I guess they buy odds and pay linemakers from other bookmakers like all small bookmakers, or they just copy/paste from them, waiting others to open first.
Maybe they are honest and have potential and will not scr..w you, but there is not a single reason to chose them instead of Pinnacle or any top rated book, is ist?
