Default Books like Bodog getting slammed by NE wins

Bodog is learning a lesson with these NE games that maybe it is advantageous to allow advantage bettors who may help balance your action.

Those books who choose not to allow professional action get killed everytime NE wins. And NE is bringing in A LOT of action from the public, and it has been mainly one sided. A book like Pinnacle or Cris can adjust its lines and rely on at least some balanced action as they are not afraid to book $30K bets from someone who knows what they are doing.

Books like bodog now have two choices, one of them: make the line incredibly large, much larger than everyone else, to try to ensure the book wins the bet. The drawback of this approach is it could result in losing customers who don't like the obvios rip off prices being charged by the book.

The other option is to post a line that is just a little higher than everyone else - what bodog usually does - but taking this option leaves them biting their nails, unless they themselves can lay off the action somewhere else.

This idea that a book is easier to beat then another is as valid as some of these trends... I took Philly halftime as one of my bigger plays... I took it at Sportsbook.com but would it have won if I were to take it at Pinnacle.. ummm yeaaahhhhh...

Can anyone give me a reason why Bodog, Sportsbook.com, or any other book is easier to beat then another ...like say cris..?

If they are playing the Pats they should be using SBRLines. Bodog has not had the best line on the Pats at anytime this season.

Most players don't line shop.

Read the NFL forums, people say things like "i'd have taken pats -25"

IMO these lines are more inflated every week, but it's not showing in the scores.

They are lower than what a true line should be.

Just because players would take the Pats -25, doesn't mean they're not line shopping.

This week I said I'd take the Pats up to -21, but I was hoping to get it in the 18-19 range. I'll probably still play the Pats at -22, but it's a tough call.
