When WSEX and Matchbook were more transparent, they stated WSEX was majority owner and backer. Matchbook Mgt will not discuss the company these days.

Not the answer I was hoping for to that question...

WSEX finally made an installment to a big 5 figure guy. Hopefully that's a start.

Matchbook has survived, and to my knowledge there aren't payment complaints...but moderator Justin7 reported around the Superbowl that there was the potential for some problems and he recommended keeping balances low.

You also have that crazy story going around that they advanced Shrink $500,000 to bet on Duke. I don't know if it is true or not. But again, who knows? They do need people to make lines.

The amount of money on see on MLB makes me think it is safe. I mean any given game you can find $10k-20k with one cent spread.

IMO. So far, matchbook is still safe to use. But no one knows what happened in future Since they have been downgraded several times last year.

They have been downgraded for nothing! Nothing=they do not pay sbr anymore...

that seems B- isn't a fair rating for Matchbook. maybe SBR downgraded them due to their website software's technical problem?

I have new information (that I once again cannot disclose). At this point, I would be confident in depositing at Matchbook.

Matchbook is as safe as you will ever find, no one pays out quicker either.

If only we knew the source of this new information. There is so much behind the "shield" some of it better to not know about, but it would be good to know overall if our $$/time invested is REALLY safe.

It "feels" very safe at Matchbook. WSEX "feels" borderline safe currently, but will they ever return to the prominence of yesteryear? Will their processor issues ever get resolved, or will a potential buy-out occur to insure fast pay-outs and safety of funds. Someone ultimately knows the answer.

I would not post up at WSEX right now. Matchbook, yes. WSEX, no.

It really shocks me that WSEX became C- now. It was A+ when I played at it and I really liked it.

Well, sure, lots of people liked it when they weren't taking months to pay.

I liked them before they put me on the world's longest delay and then cut my limits to $100 even after I was already on the delay.

    Things change...

I always considered the Shrink a bonus taker, middler, fiddler, scalper, agent, affiliate, etc. Simply not a real gambler. I would love to hear more stories on what really happened that made him bankrupt. I guess none of the books openly wants to admit being in trouble due to his debts.

According to unconfirmed rumors Weitzner was heavily in debt with several offshore sportsbooks.

I agree, after what they did to me I hav to wonder about some of the posts I have read by posters about matchbook, only a D rated shit book would do like this:
BetUS: It is because I say so

i think matcbook and wsex are the same ownership, but i dont see matchbook being in trouble.they are set up in a way that the book will not take the brunt of the damage.you are betting with players and not the book.

Not the same ownership but very similar, more so than they let on. WSEX will be fine eventually, in the mean they will continue to tarnish a great reputation.

Matchbook has a miserable business model. They still are not making enough to cover their expenses and have a large debt hanging over their heads. Will they eventually become profitable? Many believe so and have loaned them HUGE amounts of money, in the hopes that they will eventually turn the corner. In the mean time, the credit side of the business is guaranteed by someone with very deep pockets. I would feel comfortable with a small to medium sized post up balance.

I am curious about this as well. Their rep has definitely come apart with the connected sportsbetting and poker communities.

anyone here thinks wsex go to the top again? I mean A+ or B+ ? and is matchbook a safe place? (Im not sure at all) perhaps Im stupid stay away from them because I lose prices (and money), but its tuff keeping balances low to medium as a trader and matchbook still take fees for deposits?
