    WagerHub confiscates $1,900 from player

The WagerHub (SBR rating D-) player who was the subject of SBR's March 3rd sportsbook complaint had $1900 in winnings confiscated by WagerHub. Initially the player's account was frozen due to non-recreational play, then WagerHub came forward with allegations that his account was accessed from IP's outside of his geographic location. The player was able to reasonably prove that his account was never controlled by a third party.

The player deposited $500 on January 14th in exchange for a 44% cash bonus and 56% freeplay bonus. The total rollover for the 100% promotion was 10X. When his account was suspended with a balance of $8900, rollover was complete. WagerHub removed $1900 in funds stating that bonuses could not be redeemed by non-recreational players. WagerHub agreed only to pay $5600 to the player. $300 was used in withdrawal fees, and the remaining $1100 was played and lost pending his withdrawal. SBR considers the action of removing winnings from an account that have already been rolled over theft.

WAGERHUB stated reasons for keeping player's(dburton) money that bordered on insanity. they kept insisting in dburton's thread that they had valid reasons and explained over and over the insanity of thier reasoning. they should give him his $1900 and just admit they made a mistake and made it worse by thier insisting dburton was at fault. it is in thier best interest, but this place is run by idiots. they would rather lose much more from the bad publicity. $1900 ---- i wonder how much they lost. i for 1 was close to depositing after getting the free $300 and hearing how they had paid out others from the promotion.

Hey Lou, can you look into my situation with Wagerhub as well. Justin7 has all the details. I'm still owed $1,400 from them since December 21. Thanks.

In subsequent e-mail follow ups, WagerHub is continuing to refer to the confiscated funds as "bonus money", ignoring the fact that the rollover was completed fully. They also keep stating that the player 'agreed' to accept less than his full balance. It's obvious here that any such agreement made by the player was one made out of duress and thinking his options were either accept 80% of his balance at the time or receive 0.

I think I am feeling a bit different about them as well. They call me every day wanting a deposit and it doesnt seem right. I have only had good experiences with them but it seems like they are hurting right now on all fronts.

This has been the topic of a few threads. Burton definitely got screwed and I'm glad SBR is taking an interest in the matter. Good thread, Lou.

WAGERHUB also stated that they put dburton on some type of black list. giving out his infomation to other books. if this is true. we should start our own blacklist. a blacklist by posters - over so many posters agree that the book should be blacklisted and they are on the list. guess who should be 1st on the list.

I played there and did post alot of good experiences with them. Honestly nothing has ever happened to me but good service and quick payouts but I still sweat every time I had money there and it didnt feel right. I have been using 5Dimes some and mostly BetJamaica and never worry about my cash anymore. WagerHub as a book and Chuck and Tom always exceeded everything they ever promised me but the book just scared me the whole time like they "NEEDED" the next deposit.

If you have money there, I would definitely recommend withdrawing your money as soon as possible and taking your money elsewhere as your money is nowhere near safe at this point.

Gia is content to know that WagerHub's funds confiscation apparently have the OSGA's stamp of approval, unfortunately.

That doesn't come across from reading a forwarded e-mail transcript, but it's irrelevant anyway. This case will remain at the forefront of any WagerHub related news on SBR; regardless if the pope himself agreed with WagerHub Gia's indefensible position.

SBR is partly to blame. They allowed advertisement for this 'book' on the forum.

That's pretty inaccurate even coming from you. Why do I have the feeling had the poster reviews been censored or all moved to the Promos section, we'd be hearing "SBR is against free speech".

WagerHub was initiated to the SBR Sportsbook ratings guide at D-. If someone decided to follow the lead of a poster with a recent join date vs the SBR ratings guide, there's really not much blame to go around on anyone but oneself.

With hundreds of rip off artists starting or buying sports books all over the world, information like this is critical for you guys who have to play outside Nevada. Be thankful that Lou keeps you up to date on scam artists like these people. Ther are only about 500 of them out there.

FTR, the link that crazyblue diverted from this thread. For 'some' reason. It started in response to post #25.

This thread is about DBurton's case, not about how adept the SBR mods are at spotting promotional posts which go unreported. Let's keep it on track and hope that WagerHub decides to do the right thing here.

He's not the only one that was stiffed by WH.

And, as durito pointed out in the split-off thread, the WH threads went on for months. So SBR carries partial responsibility for the players that were stiffed after these 'advertising' threads, allowed on this forum (and apparently 'approved', as many might have come to believe), convinced them to deposit.

Your first response to me was that, in efffect, I didn't know what I was talking about. Then you had to admit that only books who advertise at SBR can post on its forum. But you couldn't quite leave the bs alone, so you added that the moderators hadn't seen those threads.

A D- book used this forum to advertise, against SBR rules, and you don't think there's a connection between that and stiffed players?

And you accuse others of trolling. This thread is specifically about WH rippinig off Burton, but you want to make it a blame game against SBR. You already caused part of this thread to get diverted and you're at it again. As far as ads appearing in this forum, yes it happens--BIG SURPRISE! It's a buyer beware industry, so get over it. SBR never endorsed WagerHub and they had them accurately rated at D-. Sending money to a D- Book involves substantial risk. End of story.

I'm just sticking with facts. And I think SBR dropped the ball where WH is concerned. It's not about blame at all, as you seem to think. It's about taking responsibility for an obvious mistake (that has already been admitted to).

Also, I don't have the exact timeline, but WH was not listed at SBR as late as at least mid January, and probably later than that.
