Default How much money to keep in sportsbook

How much money do you keep in your sportsbooks? Nobody keeps their entire bankroll in their books, do they? I'm assuming it's a percentage of your bankroll, but maybe it's a fixed number that you don't exceed? It seems like it also might depend on the book. For instance, I feel safer leaving money in the Greek than in Matchbook. I'm a US resident, so I'm not lucky enough to use Pinnacle. I also usually have to pay a fee to get money into a book, so I would hate to take money out only to have to put more back in if I go on a cold streak.

I have several books that I spread my bankroll across and only keep a small percentage of my bank in each book, just enough to cover the bets that I will need to make. This protects me should any books decide to stiff me but also allows me to take advantage of reload bonuses when any one of my accounts gets wiped out.

If you deposit over $300 through ** or monogram most books cover the fee!

Really depends on your betting strategy and the type of books you are dealing with.

For example, a full Kelly better would probably need his entire bankroll at disposal at all times, while a 100 unit 3-10 plays a day guy would be better off keeping the money in a savings account to get some interest.

Also, you generally want less exposure with the lower rated books than the higher rated books.

Finally, Matchbook is safe now as their situation has stabilized.

I used to keep 12.3k in Matchbook, 5.6k in Betjamaica and 4.7k in TheGreek last summer. These 3 are my top books.

I don't suggest to keep above 3k in C books like sportingbet, betsson. However, you can keep 5-10k in A+ books. It's best to spread the action. You know you should never put all your eggs in same basket.

Fixed $ limits aren't relevant - it depends on your average turnover what is relevant for you
I try to keep only as much as I might expect to turnover in the next 7 days at each book
I do however keep more at Betfair as laying can tie up a lot of one's bankroll for some time
Fortunately being able to use Moneybookers or Neteller as 'banks' it takes only a few minutes to top up if necessary

Suggest you keep enough in each sportsbook to cover your wagers. If you want to increase your wagers, let it grow, but I strongly suggest you pay yourself every month; you have won nothing until it's in your pocket!

It's better to keep below 10k in A+ sportsbook!

This should be based on many factors....hard to give a quick answer

I keep enough in the books to support my bets, and to support a losing streak that I wasn't expecting. I would hate to have to deposit, when I just made a withdrawal. Lesser deposits is a good thing. When I get to a point where I am over my threshold, then I will make a withdrawal.

NO MORE THAN YOU NEED TO

then take it from there - it will be different for different folks

I would use moneybookers or netteller as a bank so it is easy to re-up your account.

Trim your account as much as you can (Profit at least) remember these books try to keep the money they receive off the books so at any time they can up and run without you ever being able to trace that shit.

Personally I would never put more than 20% of my BR offshore. In reality, that's never the case, especially right now with all the good March Madness offers. Always assume the worst. It's possible some shit could happen where Bookmaker, Matchbook and 5dimes all can't get your money back to you all at the same time. Believe me, it will happen sometime.

There are a lot of factors to consider, how much you bet there, how safe the book is, how easy it is to withdraw, etc. I agree that I feel safer at Greek than Matchbook, but once baseball season begins, I'll be doing much more betting at Matchbook than Greek so I would keep more money in my Matchbook account at that time.

I do use 5 books only and spread the funds out. Biggest lesson that I learned is from Betcascade which I still have 6K then and they never pay.

My #1 lesson now is never have more than 5K in 1 book
#2 Never put money in any book that grade lower than B

I hope that might help someone
