No sportsbooks pay taxes to CR at this time; but, there is a new proposal on the books right now that would tax electronic betting operations in the country.

Yes but you have to understand this gets a little complicated. There are all kind of issues and we are willing to unwind each one. SBR has no standing so we need to form a class of victims. In the class there are no CR citizens, would be easier if there was but we will over come that as well. In CR when you are not the victim and have no standing, such as SBR, it makes it impossible to get an ear. We will hire lawyers and overcome that too. Thats a small sample. All will be done. The challenge that I see is to force this into a fast tract to both limit the victims list and find the assets.

Thanks SBRJohn, yes you are the ones that can put a stop to these scam operation. You would think the government would have some type of license to operate there like they do in some other countries. I would go after them hard and I am sure that you will do that too.

I wish I had better news for the players who have emailed us, but no real progress in months; doesn't look good.

Lenny was involved in some real estate development in Costa Rica. I belive it was called luna vista. Maybe somebody can look into that and try to go after that to get some of the stolen funds from Lenny back. I'm still waiting to know when I can post Lenny's real name for everybody.

    pokerking et al,

I believe Lenny's radio station should be sufficient to provide relief to the ones owed.

However there are some legal aspects to take into consideration before owed ones can legitimately build hopes.

First of all I doubt Cascade is owed by Lenny. The operation is almost certainly in the name of an obscure "sociedad anonima" with 0 assets. Unless Lenny is the registered owner of the shares (normally in CR companies issue bearer shares) there is hardly any legal way to pursue his personal assets.

Also other assets like the radio station are most probably in other companies names etc.

IF a direct personal liability can be established the attorneys there must determine whether or not gambling debts are enforceable in Costa Rica.

Gambling debts can be players' losses (player owes book) or if the operator is in debt to the player because of the bettors' winnings (book owes player).

I'm not aware if gambling debts are enforceable in CR therefore I believe this is a milestone in the entire legal process.

IF gambling debts are not enforceable but a personal liability link can be established players may still have recourse for their deposits, however the burden of proof falls on the claimant (players).

Therefore I suggest players should start gathering all the info pertaining their transactions to Cascade (deposits).

For the record this is where I stand with the court cases in the U.K. for those owed by Betonsports. Gambling debts are not enforceable but deposits are therefore players have now to provide their records to subtantiate their claims.

Pokerking...I'm certain you may now fully appreciate what you already witnessed with your own eyes a few years back.

The Panamanian government did do something for owed players, despite the critics. Most said Panama did nothing....in indsight Panama makes all other juridisctions (including Costa Rica and the UK) look like thieves.

No one is looking to cause harm to Lenny or Cascade. The fact of the matter is they have forced this action. And yes CR is famous for all its 3 card monty shell companies. But the class will have a top lawyer and a fighters chance.

Its only impossible if this really is a scam and Cascade picks up and moves. The days they can operate in the open in this country are numbered. Otherwise, they need to settle with the class. A simple payment schedule is really not too much to ask. Taking in deposits and refusing to pay the class will be fought with all available tools and options and should be.

We have a lot of quiete support in CR. I hope that support will translate into tangible support should it be needed.

It looks like it'll be very hard to get any money out of Lenny.
He goes around using a fake name so I'm sure he's hidden his money well.

    Scorpian,

I know his real name but they won't let me post it on the site. I also know that he went to Chico State University.

SBR, why have you not made a "SCAM ALERT" regarding Cascade?

On page 3, SBR John said:

Its obvious this is a scam but SBR said we will wait until Sunday to publicly declare this a scam so wait we will.

    On page 5, he said:

This is now a criminal scam operation and the books and the government need to make their move.

It looks like you are treating Cascade with kid gloves, despite your threat to make a scam alert and despite a threat to sue.

hi i have a balance of about $190k at cascade, the really weird thing is that i didn't bet for like 6 months then i bet some week 1 nfl games at 20k a pop figuring i might as well since it's lost money anyway and then the next day they cut my limits to 1k and lenny emailed me to tell me to call him and obviously he gave me the same bs stories as everyone else.

It's funny that they cut the limit to 1k across the board. If they're not paying out, why don't they raise the limits to 'the sky is the limit'.

Is this spreadsheet a listing of balances that are owed? Lenny has been very uncooperative with me and I have been unable to log into my acnt. I am owed 93k. How can I get that documented?
