Was just curious to get some opinions on an issue i am having with The Greek. I opened an acct with them on Saturday. Made a deposit for $300 via ** without recieving a bonus so that there are no holds and rollover restrictions. I turned the 300 into 1100. I went to cashout today and they told me i needed to send in my id which i did immediately. After sending my id, i called back to request the payout and they now told me that all new accts couldnt receive a payout for at least 7 days...even though no bonus was ever received and my deposit was done via ** as opposed to a CC. Is this fair or are they jerking me around?

Sportsbooks don't want guys that jump in and jump out - it costs them money and resources each time someone deposits or withdraws. If you only want to play a few days and get your money, you might be better off using a local.

I understand what you are saying Justin but if i choose not to receive a bonus and i dont use a CC, shouldnt i be allowed to withdraw the money whenever i want to. I was told that this "hold period" is only the new accts. What is the difference if my acct is new or old if i deposit via **, take no bonus, and send my id to them as instructed?

I completely disagree Justin. If you send propper ID and there are no rollover restrictions then the player should get paid. If he would of lost, he would of paid. He's taking the risk putting his money up first. He should of gotten paid when he won. Come on Justin! And I personally thing thegreek is one of the best 2 or 3 books, but this news is discouraging if accurate.

If you have a problem sending your ID to an offshore book, don't bother playing at one cap10.

I should be able to withdraw that money whenever i want.

If you think you are going to lose the money, block the greeks website for a week.

I do not like the idea of sending my id to them but when they tell you that the only way i can request a payout is if i send my id to them, what choice do i have?

Like i said before, if a player receives a bonus, i understand about rollover requirements. If a player deposits via CC, e check, etc i understand about "hold" periods. However in this case, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the greek should be holding my money except for the fact that they hope i lose it back which is absolutely wrong and ridiculous. Also, if they needed any other verification of my identity, credibility, etc, they could check with betjam as i have played there for years and made numerous deposits and a few cashouts.

I would have hoped to get help from SBR but i guess thats not the case.

You should be able to get a payout the next day. Greek is getting bad with customer service. tell them you want the bonus now if your going to wait anyway.

I did call them and ask for the bonus after they refused my payout, and after the first person told me it was too late, i got transferred to some jerk named Wally. He was a total prick but he did add the bonus, all the while making it sound like he was doing some huge favor by adding the couple dollars to my acct. The best part about the greek is that their motto is "Sweat the game, not the payout". It should be "Win your wagers, sweat the payout". Lol

The vast majority of sportsbooks have a holding period when it comes to new accounts withdrawing money.

Greek is doing nothing wrong here and the OP can be 100% assured that he will be paid.

As Justin accurately said, if you object to the 7 day waiting period, then use a local.

BTW, there is no comparison between Wally of Greek and Tony of 5 Dimes.

The Greek accepts all bettors including sharps and won't limit them the way 5 Dimes does. Also, Tony's nasty attitude when it comes to customer service is well known and documented.

While 5 Dimes does have more options, the Greek is a FAR BETTER BOOK for the sophisticated bettor, HANDS DOWN!!!

Interesting thread,maybe somebody can answer this question.Why is it with some of these books if you deposit with cash and take a bonus or -105 that they put a 2 week hold on even when you complete their rollover requirement before that.Seems to me once you've completed the terms of your agreement,that money is freed up.What is the hold for on cash?

"All new accounts must wait at least seven (7) business days after the first deposit before making a withdrawal." this has been there forever under their withdrawal policy... so I don't know what the problem is.... actually, the problem is creator of this thread should have read the policies before signing up.

Justin I couldn't disagree with you more!!! If I send a ** Cash or ** cash it is CASH the book receives it as cash. No funny business no bounced checks no deception. If I meet a rollover or dont take a bonus so that I can make a payout whenever I want. It is not my job or any posters job to give a flying fuk what the books cost is on this. It is hard enough to pick winners. The books are doing fine I'm not worried about their cost! If I win and meet rollover PAY ME. Not only that pay me same day or next day. Simple as that. I'm sick of people trying to coddle these books and be so sympathetic. When you take my deposit it's instant - when I win JUST PAY ME!!
