    Bank Question??

    Hey guys,
Not sure if this is in the right forum so I apologize if its not. Here is my situation. I turned 18 about 11 months ago. Since then I have been gambling on numerous sportsbooks online. In the beginning my bank would call me and ask to verify these transactions as I guess they thought there was fraud because I was depositing so often haha A couple months into gambling they asked me if one of my transactions was a gambling transaction...I stupidly said yes. Thousands of dollars later I have finally began winning and building a bit of a bankroll. I have about 5K right now on Sportsbook.com. If I try to withdraw and have 2 checks of about 2,500 is the bank going to throw up white flags and take action on my account such a locking it and questioning me? I want to cash out and need money desperately but dont want to have to deal with all of these issues with my bank especially since I am only 18. Thanks so much in advance!!!!

when you deposit the checks simply say it is none of their business if they ask where the checks are from. because it isn't.

Just deposit the checks, nothing to stress about. It's natural to feel paranoid if you're not used to it, but think about how many thousands of transactions your bank processes daily. In all likelihood, they don't give a crap about a measly $2500 check (it's a lot to you, not them).

If your worried maybe try a check cashing place you will be charged a fee but at least you wont have to lose any sleep. However, I would really worry about it, especially since they didnt take action when you admitted to making online gaming transactions it would be starnge if they went back on it now.

no check cashing place is going to cash a $2500 check from Canada from some 18 year old kid walking up.

Just deposit the check in the ATM if you don't want to deal with the tellers in person.

Thanks for all the input guys! I was planning on just depositing it through the ATM but you dont think that there will be any problem or they wont lock my account? Is there anyway for them to know where the check is from? Can I just say it is from selling something on ebay or something like that if they ask?

The check has a number at the bottom that is used for verification purposes, they contact the processor to ensure the funds are available. If your bank gives u a hard time try calling the sportsbook and speaking to the accounts people, maybe they could help/ I have never had a problem exept for the bank holding my check for a couple business days

Seriously, as I said, I understand the paranoia since this is new to you, but there will be no problem. 99% chance they don't ask you a damn thing... it truly is none of their business. I've been doing this for about a decade, must have deposited well over 100 checks, never been asked about or had a problem with a single one.

Take a deep breath and just deposit the check.

I too have had this concern in the past, but I have deposited checks via the ATM with no problem. If you have more funds than the check you're depositing it usually gets cleared the next day.

Different banks have different standards for flagging and identifying illicit transactions. As long as the check dosent bounce it will not warrent investigation. Also when I get checks for $2500 in the same week I cash one immediatly and wait two weeks to cash the second one.I raise no flags anyways since I get paid around $5000 a month

Which banks have you found to be the best as far as minding their own business?

I've used the same bank for the past decade and I would prefer not to mention it by name. It's a large regional chain, but not national.

I also use BkofAma....I haven't had too much grief from them. A couple of times they called me about "suspicious" transactions, but they never asked me if they were gambling. They were mostly concerned because they were international transactions. When I have been paid out from Sportsbook.com in the past, I usually get wire transfers because they are quick and I don't have to deal with tellers.

With other books, I get ** withdrawals and then just deposit the cash.

    Get some more bank accounts.
    Get some more bank accounts.
    Get some more bank accounts.

Just like you have multiple outs with gambling options, get a few more accounts. And keep your mouth a little tighter on saying what they are for.

You can cash checks that big at Amscott? They wont ask a ton of questions? How would know its a legit check?
