5Dimes Sportsbook to add Bitcoin as payment option

5Dimes Sportsbook to add Bitcoin as payment option

5Dimes Sportsbook (SBR rating A+) plans to add bitcoin as a payment option. Bitcoin deposits will be converted to USD and credited to player accounts. The average of the current Bid and Ask prices from www.bitstamp.net will be the official source used for all currency conversions from BTC to USD. As of this publication one BTC is worth $623. There will be no fees for bitcoin deposits. Based on user demand, 5Dimes may add a feature down the line allowing bitcoin depositors to wager in bitcoin. Management tells SBR that they have completed internal testing and are looking to establish a group of player volunteers. There are a limited number of slots available in the group testing stage; interested users should write to Epay@5dimes.eu expressing their desire to take part. | Continue reading

Bitcoin withdrawals will be made available at a later date. The regular selection of payout methods can be used as normal for players who deposit via Bitcoin in the meantime.

Buying Bitcoins online with a ***********/paypal is such a hassle. For withdrawals I am much more interested in.

Could this mean users who deposit using another method could possibly withdraw bitcoins? Will they convert that direction?

I imagine it will only be a matter of time until you can also withdraw with it. If this works out this could be amazing!

    Why?

Ignore all the speculation aspects, a valuable decentralized currency is so ideal for gamblers.

They recently dropped instadebit... As a canadian, im not barred from wagering in my country, and this was the only legit next way to get paid...

Was going to deposit in there before ufc175, but will not play there until any friendly canadian options like instant e-cheque, i-debit and instadebit are there.

No point as i can get my money next day or quicker from many other books.

I love 5d and all the ufc options, but similar to bovada and intertops, no point playing if i cant get my money..

My accounts at matchbook/pinny/365/SIA/playnow all have quick payouts, so that will do...

Any reason why they got rid of instadebit, and now have limited withdrawl ooptions?

    What took so long?

This is going to get 5D a lot of business. Most of you guys have no idea the staggering amounts that are wagered in btc casinos.

Also agree that our gov ruins everything and is a danger.

Correct, both options will be available, but out of the gate BTC deposits come first.

And how exactly could they do that? Besides making it hard to buy and sell bitcoins (and they can't stop person to person transfers) it would nearly impossible given the current way the Internet works...

The beauty of current BTC books like Nitrogen, are that you can move funds quickly back and forth (and bet in BTC)

So for the naysayers in here who drone on about losing your balance etc - books like Nitrogen allow folks like myself to transfer what we want to bet, if it wins, pull it back to our wallet for close to zero in fees (all within minutes). No screwing around in live help trying to get a W-U number. No attitude from managers explaining why a courier costs them X$ but they charge you triple that.

It's a good thing 5dimes is accepting BTC, but until they also allow you to withdraw, and can offer withdrawals within minutes like other books, then they're still behind in the game.

Having speedy payouts is the biggest upside to bitcoin, so hopefully coming soon, actually means coming soon. When Ultimate Poker came out two years ago they said they had a Mac version coming soon, 2 years later still waiting.
