i am more upset about my regular bets being delayed to be honest as i see no reason for them to be.

The better books gives you higher odds.

The average books gives you the odds you bet and laugh at you.

The lower books gives you the odds you bet and laugh at you and voids your bet after the event has finished (if your bet was a winning bet)

no i was not.

i was on the phone the weekend of 10/17 and made 2 $5 wagers and counted the delay on the phone to the person i was talking to just to test how long the delay was. it was a good 7-8 seconds


please check my wagers and see the 2 oddball $5 amounts on the 17th that dont even come close to my regular bets.

thats when i called for the 2 time and asked what was up and then i couldnt get a straight answer.

these werent even live bets at the time i had thought you guys put me on a delay for some reason and wanted an explanation.

then i find out later its for live events was the reason for the delay

i made a bet at 2pm on the 17th for $300 and just stared at the screen as the wager didnt go thru right away and that was not normal for my account so i made another bet of $5 on the same event at 2:02 pm after the 1st wager was accepted to see what was up and again it took forever

so i called and asked for a manager and couldn't get one so i asked the person if my account has any delay on it for some reason was told no i said look my wagers are not going in instantly.

i said i will make another $5 wager right now while im talking to you and count the seconds so i did make that wager at 2:09 PM and it was a good 7-8 seconds

never got an answer and it was saturday so i was busy with football continued my day and just dealt with it until i talked to my rep and he said he would see whats up and get me off delay as i dont bet steam


well i never came off.

so after making bets on sunday 10/18 monday 10/19 wed 10/21 i had enough and said **** it

so i find out the day i make this thread 10/26 that it was for live betting was the reason. as i called and asked for my rep again saying i would reup if they took me off the delay and he then explained what the stage said.

i have wasted time on this and am glad im off but that is how it went down.

maybe they reduced it before you got to it?

These guys at BP are a class act. They may set the new standard for how CS at a book should be. I understand that they can't let players walk all over them but they respond back here in a honest and timely manner. There's a lot to be said for that.

The reason here is very simple after looking into this. We have to delay some people based on broadcasting lag differences. If it hits 10 seconds, then we have to pull it down entirely. This is not something we can avoid, and is based on CR satellite delivery of games in live betting rotation.

I would hope that you understand we are not here to not provide service. However, we have to be responsible towards that service as well. We, as mentioned by one poster are far from thieves. How do you book something responsibly 10 seconds after it is over, and the guy on the other side has the result before you do whether he knows it or not.

hope that helps shed some light here, even if the answer is not what everyone probably wanted to hear.

I don't see what the big deal is? I've used live betting a few times and they usually go through but a few times they didn't. When they don't, they don't.

All I can recommend is that you should press the confirm button quickly. That almost always works for me. When I put a wager and then take a long time before I press the confirm button, the line has usually changed or the wager is on hold.

I have the same experience with 5Dimes as well as a few other sportsbooks. I put in the live bet and before I can confirm, the lines have changed and I'm stuck with a worse line.

So, in my opinion, BetPhoenix is as good or better than the other books.

I agree completely...Sometimes I'm quick enough; sometimes I'm not. Don't see how this is different from Pinnacle, Greek, BetJam, etc. BetPhoenix is showing remarkable patience here, bending over backwards and having to repeatedly explain themselves over what is a completely standard situation.

There is a backhaul feed, via upload to satellite, then downloaded to network distributor. Radio and TV immediately get out of phase with each other, as many of you have noticed over the years. The backhaul does not include all those graphics and ads that are common when the finished program hits your living room. The time lag between backhaul and broadcast varies from situation to situation. Sometimes the finished broadcast on one continent becomes the backhaul on another continent, which gets reformatted yet again.

Can it ever be organized so that every internet terminal has the same information? Of course not. That's why the various books have a hodgepodge of methods. That's also why some game wagers get shutout, even though the game hasn't "started" on your TV.

Don't want to get freerolled? Stick to the timeout props.

No.... I don't know how big their TO is, but I know that big bookies have a lot of TO on live events. Thousands of bets on a single match. I don't know any bookie that would have manual acceptance of live bets.

You don't know anything. Delays in live betting must exist because of broadcast delays. If there wouldn't be delays, live betting would be a big black hole for every bookie. Professionals use so called technical preproduction feeds that give them 10 second advantage over what you see on TV. With proper hardware and knowledge ANYONE can get them - as long as your geographical location is ok.

You need better technical solutions. Live betting market leaders always have the fastest feed available. Best technical solutions of course cost a lot of money, but that is why they are market leaders and you offer live betting as a side offer, just because everyone else does it.

That is BS. I know many Euro bookies and all delays are under 10 seconds. Yes I know one with 10, one with 11 and one with 12... but as I said most of them are below 10 seconds.

For those crying about 10 second or lower delay, you have to realize that what you see on TV is delayed like hell. I know delays of all channels/competitions and a certain Spanish Primera match on a reputable TV station has 25 second delay compared to one other pay-per-view channel. And even that channel still shows you what happened 7 seconds ago. The picture needs to be taken, then sent to the center at the stadium, then taken care of, sent via satelite link to production, taken care of again, sent to viewer via terrestrial signal/cable provider or viewer via satellite signal. If Betphoenix has 10 second delay over what their operator sees, that is perfectly understadable and fine for a company that is not live betting oriented.

You mean if you think that live betting is Quake tournament, waiting with your finger on the mouse when the goal comes and bet the wrong lines? That is weak and a guy like that deserves delay. However if they give you limit this big only because you are winning, it is really weak. Which bookies gave you 120 second delay, that is unheard of.

I agree FD... it seems like they dont even give a shit about your business at all... I used to keep approx 1/3 of my roll there but havent used them in over a year. I dont want to argue with people when I am the customer... nothing worse than that.
