Default Is Tradesports The Place To Be?

Might be the place now unless they ban Americans too

    No. Very little liquidity.

For major sporting events the liquidity is fine for most people. A 200x200 mkt, 4% wide is the norm. For major major events like football, the market is .5% wide and you'll be able to do most of your size (unless you're a total whale) and odds better than Pinnacle. For minor events, you're right it sucks.

And yes, I think TS is the best place to have your cash right now. Very safe. I took it over EFT.

IMO any non-company seeded exchange is better than a sportsbook, it's similar to poker, the company has no exposure, so no reason not to return funds.

both sportsbooks and exchanges have reason to keep your funds :-) but sportsbooks, unlike exchanges, have the possibility of being insolvent.

At least 2 exchanges have become insolvent. Flutter and Sportingoptions. Agree it is less likely though. Still worth researching your choice though.

It is not a bad exchange and now have been around for while, the liquidity has remained the same bascially over the years which proves my point exchanges have limited market share. Most players want a line and bet it period.

Matchbook is by far better than tradesports for 2 reasons. Half the price..2% compared to 4% at tradesports. And far more liquidity. You can at worst get down 20k per side on any game. Most of the time you can get more. Also at matchbook the live betting gives you a lot of liquidity too. Matchbook is the place to be without a doubt.

I agree 100% with Wileout. I have changed from TS to MB. And for in game, I like WSEX better than TS now.

Tradesports was doing this long before others. If they had played their cards right they could have owned this corner of the market, instead of leaving it to Matchbook. I remember being stunned by the incompetence of the TS leadership and its unwillingness to make positive changes. Tradesports is a prime example of missed opportunity. They could have been the Microsoft of online trading, but they thought far too small. The Matchbook leadership clearly has its act together, and I'm very interested to see where they take it from here.

Also Santo do not forget the added "luxury"and peace of mind that you will not be limited in your wagers weather you have winning or loosing streaks .I had 3 Xchgs accounts(matchbook, tradesports & mansion)Mansion reverted to being just a British books (with all the bullsh*t that comes with it) so i shut them down. Now i only have the 2,however TS is a little bit disappointing compare to MB but if you want a good exchange with AMERICAN ODDS & AMERICAN SPORTS and if you want another one after MATCHBOOK WELL THERE ARE THE ONLY ONES IMO .BETFAIR is terrible they don't even post their lines with AMERICAN ODDS.
DARK HORSE is bang on about the liquidity of tradesports sometimes you will be sitting there pulling you hair out in frustration waiting for a NHL deal because of liquidity.
witch never happened with MB(even with the NHL).Hopefully i hope that TS will get their act together AS DH said and pattern themselves after MB also i hope that these assh*les at BETFAIR WILL BOTHER TO PUT AMERICAN ODDS one day.The exchanges are definitely a great option to have along with the top high roller books IMO.

by the way great THREAD JJ

I also agree with Dark Horse. TS could have stayed THE one, but blew it.

I have used Tradesports for quite a while. I prefer MB and really liked the old Mansion but TS still has its spot.

They hold the lines constant and just allow the players to move the odds. You can often pick up an extra half point or more from the WA line at a nice discount. As players set the market, liquidity at value can be small but it adds up. Also they never line NFL games at 3 always 3.5 or 2.5.
