Default Matchbook should be downgraded immediately

The site has become a joke. Once in a while you can get in, but don't even think about putting in an offer if you really want to bet the game. Chances are, you'll never be able to get back in to see if your offer was matched. So you're left with a dilemma. Either:

    - bet the game elsewhere and hope it didn't match, in which case you may be stuck with twice as much on a game as you wanted; or

    - don't bet the game elsewhere, in which case you may be stuck without a bet.

If Matchbook is too cheap to hire decent tech support to keep the site secure, up, and running, it has to make one wonder about how stable this whole operation is.

If it is possible to have better protection against DOS attacks than Matchbook has in place today, then they should be downgraded, at least until they have solved the problem. It is not acceptable to have the same problem over and over and over again.

Imagine if brokers and investors in Wall Street couldnt see what was going on...

They're not acknowledging a problem. Just like last time. Now they're saying that there was a slowdown earlier in the evening, but that normal service has been restored. Meanwhile I still can't get in, and am starting to get very uncomfortable with their lack of straightforwardness. I think I may be done with them.

Had a bet vanish on me a few weeks ago and they never took it the least bit seriously. The bet just wasnt there when i looked in the morning and they claimed it wouldnt matter anyway because the bet was cancelled because the game went only 6 innings. Well i bet on the team that won so should i not be credited? The bet was on live wagering and although i bet the game before the first pitch they claimed because it was a live event it needed to go the distance anyways? What??? the other day all their games were available live. Could u imagine betting 2k on a team that is ahead when the game is called and having it cancelled because the game was available in a live market. Freaking retarded. I didnt have much on it but not only did the wager vanish, I would not have been credited anyways. A few days later i make a decent sized play with the intent of buying back the next day but they were down the next day so i cant get in to buy back and they play went through in the afternoon and i lost nearly 400. Its happened many times there and im sick of it. I wish new exchanges would pop up so theyd have some competition.

Well...a bet should never vanish, but it does state in their live rules that games must go 8.5 innings. Even if the bet was before first pitch, if it was after they made it live (the green link is blinking) then the live rules would apply.

I gave up on MB after they did something I've never seen happen anywhere before and should never happen - they cancelled a bet I place AFTER the game had started.

Totally unforgivable regardless of excuses and the local regulator sided with them (surprise! surprise!) when I lodged a complaint.

Brooklyn Boy, Do you want to be paid on the bet? File a complaint with SBR. There is a time stamp on your wager. If it was before the game started, you'll be paid. Bets made before the game have different rules with bets made during the live game. Its clear cut.

This really has gone on too long. Many other books had problems around the start of football, but nearly everone else is on top of it now.

Can someone at SBR get the scoop from management? Seems like you guys used to be a lot more proactive about getting comment from management on these things, doing site visits, etc.

As I'm sure you know, the regular markets usually close well before the game actually starts. I think the problem is the regular market was already closed, and the live market opened so it is treated as a live-bet even if the game hadn't started yet.

Still, it might be something worth investigating further.

Chuck, they are claiming they dont even have a record of the game. That is what is disconcerting.
