I just got a call from my CC company, accusing me of depositing money into an online book. What do you think there next steps will be on this?

I have had this happen before, I wouldn't worry to much. I had been making daily 1k deposits into a book to get loaded up. After every successful deposit attempt I would immediately get a call from the "Fraud Dept" asking if I authorized the charge. I'd always say Yes and that was the end of it until the next day. The 4th time the "fraud team" called, I had to wait to speak with a supervisor before my account would be active again. The convo went something like this...
CC Supervisor: "Mr GambleBalls... I see a charge of $1000 to "XXXwhateveritwasXXX". We believe this was an online gaming related transaction. Did you authorize this charge?"
Me: "Yes"
CC Supervisor: "OK, I'd like to remind you that we do not allow gambling related transactions and will block any known online gambling related charge. That being said... Is this charge online gambling related?"
Me: "No"
CC Supervisor: "Thank you for your time."

Tough for them to prove. Good advice here on how to handle it from Peep, durito, and gambleballs.

I get this from my card company sometimes. Simply tell the fraud department it was a charge made by you and you would rather not say what it is for. I wouldn't take a hard nosed approach because 1) it might be hard to get another comparable card (good rates, limit, etc) and 2) making deposits to a book is against your cardholder TOS so they can hose you by accelerating balances/rates or simply cancelling your line of credit, whatever you have agreed to in the fine print. Remember, you have likely breached the contract.
