I already know the answer. That offshore debt is not admissible in a US court.

But if you found a better answer, which you seem to suggest, since you already told the OP to keep his 1K reward, by all means enlighten us.

you now if you loose money in an offshore betting ring vs some schuck in US taking your money living his live raising his kids, putting them thru college on your dime... it's pisses you off doesnt it.... people play on line wagers alot (I guess, I never did it) but if you win and you have earnings they should pay what they promised correct? be it on US or offshore, they say they have agorithyems (spelled wrong), but hey, you make some they make some, but if you win you should get your money. Who says' you're not a college student working on his PHD or BS... hey I hear it helps pay the bills... buy why should you be screwed cause some asshole doesn't want to give you your winnings. Why can't there be something done? Believe me... I wrote the White House, Home Land Security, Reported him to the Social Security Admin. Put ads out on Craiglist.com, put things out here on this site (I don't know what is it), but I can type in Anthony Block bookthebets on google and find pictures of this man. I called the better business bureau and I can't tell you how many places ... I put things on CIA.org I put things out on anywhere I can find. Saying this man is a scam. I want my satisfaction.

So you're suggesting that the owner of a offshore betting operation is going to file a US tax return about that illegal operation?

well then... seems like my posts aren't going thru... if you loose money gambling... you can claim it as a loss... they have to record it as a win.... if you lose money then win money you take the difference on your taxes. shouldn't matter if on or off shore

    In a perfect world. Maybe.

I strongly doubt that this guy has filed reliable tax records, if any at all, of his illegal offshore gambling operation.

Then again, to bring up that offshore gambling operation in court could be interesting...

Is that what you're doing? Are you suing him for losing your money in an illegal offshore gambling operation (without you knowing it)?

The guy said it was not a gambling case...."My debt is not a gambling debt. This was a business deal..... I have a contract between me and him. I wrote him a check personally for 10K." so I imagine that one of the "cards" he will use is to accuse him of gambling...etc...I just hope he has his back covered....and good luck

Honestly, I think you shouldn't even have any business deal, affiliation, or gamble with a local wannabe bookie trying to compete with the big boys offshore sites. I bet this wannabe bookie runs a stupid little local credit shop too. I never trust one of those local knuckleheads running a credit shop because they're all a bunch of stiffs and they'll stiff you at any given day.

ezdozit, if I were you, I'll watch my back. One of my friend's neighbor got shot and died because he did the same thing. He reported to the police about a local bookie after that bookie stiffed him. That bookie is off the hook because there's no evidence to charge him. Just watch your back if you want to use legal methods to take care of things. Sometimes you don't know who you are messing with and you lose your life.

Why do people even mess with these lousy books. You're part of the reason they're still in business. Don't deposit money there.
