Look, I fully realize this a WSEX thread, but I think Chuck Sims has become the surrogate whipping boy here, and completely unneccesary in my opinion. I wouldn't deposit $100 at Wsex right now if I found it laying in the street, and I was a customer there for years. But Sims is the antichrist because he supports the book? Experience has got to count for something here in my opinion, and the guy has been around SBR longer than I have, and there's not too many who I can say that about. Plus the guy was one of the 1st SBR Forumites to help me out many years ago, so probably I'm a tad biased, but so be it.

Thanks Stumpage. I have been attacked for challenging posters that have said WSEX is going to stiff everyone, I have been attacked for challenging posters that WSEX would be shut down before the start of football.
Do you remember when I was attacked for warning people to get their money out of all the BetOnSports sportsbooks? When you go against the grain, you're going to be attacked or ridiculed.
NFL season starts tonight. WSEX is still here, posters are reporting daily that they have been paid.

SSLP aka--official dumb f-u-c-k at SBR. Since you have missed my many previous posts on the subject, let me say it just for you...STAY AWAY FROM WSEX. I WOULD NOT OR HAVE I EVER RECOMMENDED WSEX TO ANYONE SINCE THE SLOW PAYS STARTED.
Now dumb f-u-c-k, go now and say no more.
For the rest of you I will continue to report WSEX payouts and any info I receive from WSEX higher ups. I will also contiune to call out clueless posters that say WSEX is shutting down before the start of football or that they are not going to make anymore payouts.

Jesus christ another clueless f-u-c-k. Hey dumbass I am reporting that WSEX is still making payouts. Posters have dropped four letter bombs on me for saying stay cool, you'll be paid after they post WSEX is not going to pay and that they are closing their doors. I have posted to stay away from WSEX. Now please, get clued in.

little reason to use WSEX, IMO.

First a slow paying book is always a big issue. WSEX has been doing slow pays via checks for a while, so warning signs scream don't play with them until they get it figured out.
That said, for those who have played for years offshore, it is hard to think of WSEX as just a slow pay book. They did everything right, until the last year or so. They were respected by everyone. They offered unique betting options without giving away the store. They had some of the best management around. They never had any significant complaints about them. One of the three owners Jay Coehn, took on the US federal government to try to make offshore sports betting legal.
A couple years ago when asked what Caribbean book I would keep six figures in if I had no choice, it was WSEX. So that is a lot of history, and why I don't think they will end up stiffing players.
That said, your balance is your money, and I can't think of any reason to keep money with them unless they offer something that is so different than any other book that you can stand to lose it. This is a significant slow pay. Just one that I hope ends well.
Will be back with an update today.

JoshW...that's a good summary as to why the WSEX situation is so vexing. If you play offshore you want to be able to trust someone, and a book with their history of both integrity and innovation seems like they've done more to earn than trust than anyone. That's why I paid almost no attention to the chorus of complaints in the first months of this situation. I bought the payment processor story, and figured it was just a matter of sending out another round of checks.
What I would like to ask you, though, is why you think WSEX doesn't have the money. Is it just a matter of the customer base shrinking so much costs started to outrun profits? Or did they run into trouble putting up good interactive prices and get hit, or take losses because of an indifferent linesman? Or did somebody stiff somebody? Or did someone start living large? Or were there perhaps some bad investments made with the float that got hit by the meltdown?
There's got to be a reason for their liquidity issues, and in this small connected world at some point that's gotta come out.

I have a couple of new complaints. One Moneybooker and one Neteller. Otherwise, no updates on checks. Seems the group of payouts they made over a week ago, have quickly led to more of the same. I have emails out to a couple people at WSEX, but lack of communication is the story at the moment.

I believe they ask for a one time roll-over.
I would write them (accounts@matchbook.com) and explain what you want to do. They tend to be prompt, straight forward, and fair in these matters.
And welcome to SBR BTW.
