Default BetFair: Technical problem with withdrawals

Just a heads up for anybody awaiting or planning to make an e-wallet withdrawal from BetFair, in my case Moneybookers. As I have been waiting an unusually long time (for them) for my withdrwal to be processed by Moneybookers, I inquired as to the delay and recieved the following:

"...Unfortunately we are currently experiencing a technical problem with all e-wallet withdrawals. Our technicians are currently looking into this as a matter of urgency. Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to give a time when this will be resolved..."

They're obviously a decent book, but figure this might be relevant to at least one or two Forumites out there...

That's what I've heard from others as well, fingas. A temporary glitch that should be ironed out next week.

BetFair now saying they "hope" to have their e-wallet problems resolved sometime early next week. So anybody waiting on a Moneybookers payment, like myself, apparently are a week away minimum from seeing the funds credited to their account.

Trust me! I am too long in this business to know that we are not just dealing with a technical issue.

Either someone fcked up really bad or there is a real technical issue. Betfair is going nowhere and we have no reason to think they are going down. If they were close to going broke they would just start charging the lesser players with the a premium charge like they do with the big boys already. Or start charging for deposits or withdrawal by ewallets. Or something else. On the forum chat yesterday I think they claimed to have 650.000 active players, so they would earn big money very fast if they needed it.

They posted this on the service board.

I have talked to people who have received withdrawals to card. So they are still paying out.

So what is the issue exactly, apart from some matched bettors shitting their pants?

Personally I do not buy the story that they have a technical problem. I simply think that their e-Wallets are empty and need to be refilled. This may take a few days and all should be ok again. If it really is a technical problem, then they should offer other forms of withdrawal by Friday. So if starting Monday nothing has been done, then we should get a delightful BetFair downgrade.

in light of the recent promotion from moneybookers (1% cashback - unlimited) my guess is that people attemted to shift their funds to and fro, disbalancing betfair's cashflow - so it will level up towards the end of the promo

The problem applies to all e-wallets, so it's more likely to be something to do with an internal system.

I have received money from them now requested last week. Others will probably report the same throughout the day.
