Exclamation Alert - Bet365 refuses payments - postal verification code required

    Hello,

I would like to alert everyone who thinks about joining and depositing to Bet365.
They will request a so called code (pvc) before they process any withdrawals.

A bookmaker usually request from players scan/faxes of id documents and ************, and sometimes an utility bill. All this to prove that the player is the one who deposits, bets, and registers with real data (id, address)

Bet365 will ask you for these documents too but they will ask you also a code they say they send to your registered home address.

    Dear Mr ...,
Thank you for submitting your documents as requested.
I am pleased to confirm that your identification documentation has been verified and your account has been updated accordingly. We will not require further identification documentation unless you subsequently change any of your details.
In order to fully verify your account we still require your postal verification code.
We have posted your unique postal verification code to the address you have registered with us. You can submit this online by simply logging in, visiting My Account in Members, selecting Verification and entering your unique postal verification code.
If you require any further assistance...
    ...
    Kind Regards
    David
    The bet365 Team
So after I sent all the documents they requested, my payment was still not processed. So I asked why they don't process my payment.

    Dear Mr ...,
    Thank you for your email.

Before we process the withdrawal, we need to full verify your account. In order to do this we still require your postal verification code.
We have posted your unique postal verification code to the address you have registered with us. You can submit this online by simply logging in, visiting 'My Account' in 'Members', selecting 'Verification' and entering your unique postal verification code.

You can also request to be resent your postal verification code from this page.

Unbelievable, this is the first time a bookmaker will not pay me without some sort of letter they state they send.

    Dear Mr ...,
    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that the postal verification code must be confirmed before any outstanding withdrawals will be processed.
We have posted your unique postal verification code to the address you have registered with us. There you have it.
Even if you send any document that clearly proves you are the owner of the account, card, etc. Bet365 will not process withdrawal requests.

In my humble opinion, everyone should know what to expect from this bookmaker when they request withdrawals.

I don't know what other bookmaker will ask for a letter, they say they send. And no one could have a certainty that this letter will be sent/reached to his address.

So beware players who know the postal service in your city/country is not the best or usually have troubles receiving postal mail.

What country are you in? (Wondering if there's high bonus abuse / fraudulent accounts there).

  3. #3

    Default

Have you asked that they send it again?

I had an experience with one bookmaker where they did the same thing. I got the postal verification code in the mail like 3 months after creating my account. They're just trying to delay you, hoping you will gamble all your winnings away.

  4. #4

    Default

Just a security measure, they will pay you when they have that info, dont sweat it.

I know it can be frustrating but bookies are entitled to have whatever measures they want in place to verify new account holders.

Once you are verified the only thing you have to worry after that is having your limit cut

Betpartners have you ever made a post that didn't jerk off a bookie???????

  6. #6

    Absolutely,

I have little time for non licensed books for starters

Yesterday i gave negative opinion on the LGA.

What i wont do is the same old boring stuff that a lot do on here do when they come on dont read everything and just go scam, thieves, corrupt or whatever.

Nothing wrong with looking at something at its face value and making a comment

But i thank you for your contribution to this thread, it was invaluable.

Why don't u pick up your phone and call them right away?

  8. #8

Oh and your post was so valuable?!?!?! You were just justifying the book giving the customer the run around. You did not address the mail issue, you just said the book can do whatever they want to verify accounts.

    themajormt is right.
and I never said scam, thieves, corrupt or whatever.

My account is having pending withdrawals worth of 3500+ € and I am waiting for this "letter" now.

I only want to alert every newbie to what to expect from this "serious" bookmaker

Is plain obvious that they only trying to delay me, actually trying to not pay me.
They didn't request any code when I deposited big amounts of money!

So yes, bet365 can be called a cheesy scam, thieves and corrupt.

Actually they called me before I called them. A bored operator verified all my details on the phone one , so I also had a phone verification.
And after all he said they still require the code before any payment will be processed.
    Ha!

    Correct

They can, if you dont like it go elsewhere

Boto, i never said you called them thieves corrupt or scam, read my words,

But seriously a thread about a bookies wanting to verify your id, jeez you must be bored.

    Verify it already.

You are obviously a newbie anyway, you see most bookies request id verification when it comes to withdrawal, nothing at all new there.

You seriously think they are scams etc for asking for a id check,

    Really?

Dont bother answering, from your comments i see it would be the same old drivel, they dont actually steal from you just want a id check and you call them thieves.

Betpartners you are missing the POINT of the thread... #1 he was letting people know what to expect from them IF they want to withdraw. #2, other people have stated it has taken 3 MONTHS to obtain the code. Do you think the book sends the code FEDEX so it can be tracked and verified that it was sent AND received??? No... The probably send it standard mail where it can be lost or stolen or maybe even NOT sent!!!

  14. #14

I have no problem with a book verifying ID... What is a concern is when the book doesnt send out this information when the account is opened and a deposit is accepted. Once a deposit is made the book should send the code REGISTERED mail so that the customer can quickly verify their account and make a withdrawal if they win. Not wait 3 months for the book to decide when they will send it.

I do understand the premise behind this and as a warning that is fine in itself and my first response was that it was a security measure dont sweat it.

From that point onwards they were called scams etc, and you know the question you asked me matey.

Point is this, i have no idea why someone else had to wait 3 months but i would suggest that the vast majority dont and it is nothing more than a security measure, no need to turn it in to theft, slow pay, corruption or whatever, its a simple security measure.

FFS i even said i understand it can be frustrating, that in itself tells you that i acknowledge that they could do it better.

But this is a minor thing, he will get his money, or is the suggestion that he wont.

    some perspective here hey

Yes i accept it can be better

But this is not an instance of slow pay, theft or anything, at worst administration bungling

The problem with OP's warning, however, is that it depends on location. Unless their practice has recently changed, they certainly don't mail out PVCs in the UK before permitting you to withdraw.

(Though I was subject to a similar processs by Paypal when I sent several $k from my Canadian bank/Paypal account to my UK bank/Paypal account. The code did, indeed, get lost in the mail and I needed the funds for tuition payment which, ironically, was why I'd chosen Paypal over a regular international wire, as it would have been less expensive / quicker.)

That is why I made the point to say that AFTER the accept a deposit the book should send the code some sort of registered mail. Not waiting until the customer wants to withdraw and then praying it doesnt get lost. This way it shows that the book has no intention of giving the customer a run around but they are just protecting their assets. I also believe a code really serves no purpose at all because if the person went through all the trouble of forging documents dont you think he could get the code from the address if he really wanted to?

But Ill leave that part alone

fair enough, my point is that most bookies do it that way, only recently i opened an account with canbet, bet, won and then requested withdrawal, 24 hours later request was denied and id verification was requested.

I was pissed off, lost my money while waiting for verification and thats why i said in my first response that i understand the frustration.

But it is a massive leap from being shite with admin to being thieves.

The OP first post was a warning fair enough, but it is just an ID check at the end of the day however convuluted the process is.

I agree with you it can be better and should be by ALL bookies, but he will get paid once this is done.

Thank you all for your comments. Well I, for one, cannot lose the money now, betting, because they limited my max stake to 1%

Today I received a phone call from the bank to ask me if I am the one who deposited money to Bet365.

What do you think of this?
    Things are really getting radical.

    So
    1) They request scanned documents
    2) They call by phone to verify details, again
    3) They fax the bank to call the account holder to confirm the deposits.
    and
    4) They will still not pay until you give them this pv code

I am sorry but for me it's clear Bet365 will now do anything to get anyone with something not to pay.

I am not a newbie, actually I play on many european books and Bet365 is the only one who did all this "verifications"

The postal verification code is included in the welcome pack sent out upon registering and therefore the majority of users receive the pack and insert the code prior to ever requesting a payout.

The PVC thing has come up before here, one guy entering a variation of his address which caused the problem. He then changed his address to the correct one to verify it but the original code then didn't work because it was for the original address and so it needed a new code sending.

The likes of Moneybookers and WBX also run postal verifications.

Just my 2 cents here as I haven't played there for several years (due to very low limits), but you would think that SBR might be able to assist on something like this if the player lived in a country, like I do, where mail is not delivered to your house.

Yes, there are still places in the world where mail will not find you. If this had happened to me, i would be unable to comply with their request unless they were willing to fed ex this code to me.

If mail service is good, then comply. maybe Justin can offer a compromise to 365 on this.

    Serious question

If you dont get mail, how do you get any bills like utilities, internet bills and so on.

    What about doctors appointments

There simply must be some sort of setup that one can receive some sort of documentation.

What country are you from Kat that does not have a postal service

Serious answer, I realize some folks don't get out much. Panama has almost no walk up delivery mail. You would need to go to the post office and rent a box to have half a chance to get some mail.

Utility bills are HAND DELIVERED by the companies themselves and shoved under your door.

Email attachments, faxes, and cell phone is how you get by. If you want something impt to show up at your door from someone.... DHL or fed ex does a good job.

Normally, as far as I know, they accept both: A letter to your registered home address or a simple ID copy. Check this out!!!

Neverthenless bet365 is a shit book who cheat their customers in a very unfair way. Their livebetting for example is nothing else than a scam.
Also they like to void or change winning bets after the event has finished.

this thread is total BS ... postal verification for non UK has been standard policy for them for ages

Again I say, I laugh out loud when I read these threads of people complaining about stringent ID checking.

Be f'ing happy they take things seriously, would you prefer Stryyke's methods?!?

I received my PVC letter one day after I emailed them. And I live in Canada. Not sure how they got it to me so quickly but you had such a hard time.

I also have some experiences with that. When I registered and after few days tried to make a withdrawal I was told I need PVC in order to have my withdrawal request processed. I got a letter 2 weeks later.
A friend of mine has been waiting 2 months and did not get any. He even requested them to send a new one. It is more than 2 years he is not betting at Bet365 and he is very lucky, he did not start to play before he get this letter. Maybe his money would be sitting on his account forever.
