Business as usual. Info buried in the sports book and industry forum.

Id say that a sprtsbook director at a Vegas book being tied to Pinnacle agents in the US is kind of a big deal, but what do I know.

Gaming and legal sources confirmed the charges involve PinnacleSports.com, one of the largest offshore sports wagering websites. Sources said agents for the website were arrested in several cities Wednesday.
is it possible that those agents could be independent without any official connections to pinny?

    no.

Three of the charged were actually described as OWNERS of Pinnacle. not just agents. Some veteran bookmakers in that list. Many been in the hot seat before.

    Names all those arrested> http://www.queensda.org/newpressrele...5_2012.ind.pdf

Citing Pinnacle even indirectly, means Pinnacle won't be able to comment. It would be a legal matter for their people. Looks like some stateside use of the site but Pinnacle the non-US postup company and those people aren't listed in any of these reports nor do they do any transactions through the US

Says " The owners of Curacao-based Pinnaclesports.com, one of the most prominent sports betting websites, were named in the indictment.
    "

Could be nothing, just dont want my funds frozen if the website gets blocked.

The owners of Curacao-based Pinnaclesports.com, one of the most prominent sports betting websites, were named in the indictment.

"The ramifications of this are huge," one industry source told ESPN. "The guys involved had to be handling millions of dollars a week."

The professional sports betting world is a complex web of bookmakers, gamblers, people who make bets on behalf of gamblers, and others who collect those bets. It spreads from brick-and-mortar casinos in Nevada, to local bookies in nearly every American city, to Internet sports books mostly based in tropical locales such as Costa Rica and Antigua and Curacao. It is illegal for offshore books to accept wagers over the Internet from people in the United States. Those arrested Wednesday allegedly are agents hired to help gamblers circumvent those laws, as well as bookmakers, distributors and collectors.

"I know that people in the islands are crapping their pants right now," a source with ties to the offshore sports betting industry told ESPN. "The money involved in this is what moved point spreads."

He(Edwards) was also indicted as were two other owners of Pinnacle. The actual indictment is already online and the 2 other owners indicted besides Edwards have been identified by name on other websites like pokernews.

Why? Pinnacle is a legal entity that no longer serves US players. In this scandel of money laundering and arrested agents at most they are looking at a law suit.

Also arrested in Las Vegas was 46-year-old Brant England, one of the three owners of Pinnacle Sport, an online sports gaming website. Stanley Tomchin and George Molsbarger, co-owners of Pinnacle in California, also were arrested.

If you think $7M seized is large, then you are way underestimating the size of Pinnacle or the betting world. Plus, a portion of the money might be the agents' cash. Not all Pinnys.
